Mom's been sewing again...

Isn't this the cutest little outfit? I love it! It's hard to tell in pictures but Camryn has very blue eyes and I love how they look against pink.

Maddie had such beautiful blue eyes and I loved her in pink. Still do, though and now her eyes are a hazel. LOL
I swear Camryn gets prettier by the day! Or at least in very pic you post of her!

Kim I couldn't find your first post. ARe there other issues that I am missing. Does your mother not show you or your son love? Unless I am missing something it doesn't seem like it is your mom's or your niece's fault on the day that she wants to have her Christmas. Like I said in a previous post, my mother gets my nephew every other Friday night and so when I plan my kids birthday party I always (so to include him) make sure to have them on a weekend that my mother will have him. It's not his fault that his mother is being this way and doesn't give him up any extra :( I am only saying this because you were upset that you had to halt the norm but it's not your niece or your mom's fault. I think I would be more upset if my mom had Christmas with my nephew and my kids on different days. My traditions of Christmas with my kids is on Christmas day but whenever anyone else chooses to give them a Christmas present I don't care if it is 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after. You said that if you have to ask her to show love then it is not worth it.. what does she do? It sounds like she spent a lot on you for Christmas by getting you something that you really wanted.. even though you told her that it was too expensive. Does she do other things that are making you feel this way? I think it would bother me more if my mom didn't care if she had all of her grandkids together... meaning if she cared more for your niece she could have just did Christmas Day with your son and not included him she could have had just her granddaughter on the 15th.. but she obviously wanted both of them together. Anyway.. let me know if I am missing something. The fact that your mom is keeping her all night and not your son would probably bother me but from the way that you talk your mom works full time and from what I can understand she doesn't get this little girl except during this time so she probably feels that she has to get her then if she wants a relationship with her whereas you are not holding him from her. Has she always kept her all night or has this just started?

Thank you for the welcome....and yes, I have a mat. I thought I had a clear ruler too from years ago, but I have no iclue (baby Anjelica speak) where it is. sigh...I guess a trip to WalMart is in store for me this coming week. Your pictures remind me of sewing I once did to use up fabric I had accumulated. Every winter I made stacks of shorts and t-shirts in varying children's sizes. In the Spring I gave them to a nun who worked in a very poor section of Cincinnati. She would distribute them to families who needed them. In later years I made all sorts of pajamas for the St. Vincent hotel which took in homeless people, especially families . I double stitched everything as I knew they would be washed every day. Once in a while I used a pattern for a really pretty little girl's nightie and always hoped it gave a tot a happy night.

lol justgottabe- I too have married in to a stalker situation. It has given us a lot of great stories and laughs but in reality there is a dark side, where my husband and I have agreed that things could turn quickly from stealing from us (even took our truck while we were away) and coming in while we are not home (bagged her) to "slapping on a diaper and driving to Texas," or "making a Jenn skin suit and crawling inside of it." As you can see we have used our dark senses of humor to deal with this but have never dealt with it directly. So learn from my mistakes: nip it in the bud, face to face (agree no email) now. Next time she comes over, let the girls play and ask her if you can speak privately. Tell her that you and your family value your privacy and that you wish you had said something years ago, but that pop-ins, early am calls, and unplanned play-dates are not to happen anymore, you just don't like it. Be very specific. If kids are playing in the neighborhood and her kid happens to fall in with them that is one thing, but they are old enough now for that to happen organically and for it not to impact you in the least.

That's just the cutest,both outfit and baby.That's what i miss most about sewing ,all my kids and most of my grands are grown up.I have 3 little GGK'S from 1 1/2 to 4,but they don't live close.

Steph, both my girls have blue eyes, and while I dress them in a lot of pink, their eyes turn really blue when they wear blue!

Sweet Camryn! They do grow up fast! My Katie will be 14 months in 2 days!

Five months old, my, my, isn't this a great age? They can smile and laugh yet haven't got to the point where you have to "baby proof" your house.
