Alaska, here we come!

GS and I will be on our way, Friday, for a nite in Seattle, and board the ship on Saturday!

Weather looks delightful!

Have great excursions planned, one of which is to join the Captain and seasoned Bering Sea fishermenon the Aleutian Ballad, crab boat seen on Season 2 of the Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch

Yes I put them into one garden last year, a few seeds. This year, there is not a spot in that garden that doesn't have a four o'clock plant and they have spread. A man stopped in a truck last year and said they were so beautiful and wanted to know what they were. I would have given him half of them if I'd known. Every wee flower has a seed in it and there are thousands of flowers. The seeds look like little hand grenades. Yes they have spread a long way too. Thousands around where the original plants were but also a plant here and there a long way from where I planted them. They are very pretty but they are called four o'clocks because the flowers don't open until four o'clock in the afternoon. Must say I haven't noticed the smell, must check this year once they start flowering.

So, lets think this through. You need a flat surface that mimics a boxspring. A boxspring is plywood, springs, and a covering. Use your plywood. Drill some small holes here and there. Cover the top of the plywood with a thin layer of batting and a mesh cover. Staple it to the plywood. Also, have you considered a memory foam topper and a standard mattress. The toppers are wonderful. I have one on an older mattress and it is great. Enjoy your daybed (I love mine) and your mattress.

ARGH, my computer wouldn't accept cookies, suddenly, yesterday. Hope it's back to normal today. Thanks for your suggestions, cooper, prairiemoon, alex, and vampiress. prairie, your link was fascinating...we haven't had those problems since we've had our topper (many years now--that's why it needs replacement) but it's sobering to hear that so many have. What have you found to be the best price on a suitable Dunlop topper? We're in Oregon and big fans aren't the issue (although we did need one for about a week this summer), it's my weird personal thermostat that will send me into full-on sweat at any given moment. Like when I was talking with a salesman in a audio/video store last night. As I was listening to him and he was looking at me, I wondered if I would actually start dripping off my forehead or if it would merely bead up...and if he noticed...so wonderful. Then after that I get chills, so you can see the fan would make things worse, at that point. Your suggestions really help, though. We NEED a new topper *now*!

Have a great trip! I'll be interested in "hearing" all about it from you since we just might be going on an Alaskan cruise next June! That excursion sounds fantastic, and like something my DH would love to do! Is it dinner onboard your cruise ship?

No dinner on board the ALeutian, but we are going gold panning and an salmon cookout in Skagway.

Glenda, the two of you will have a wonderful time.

This past Christmas we did a family cruise, my DD, DS, DDIL and 3 and 6 year old grandsons and us. We had the best, best time. I am so thankful we got to do that.

Have a fun time and make many special memories, you will!
I will look forward to your post about your trip when you return.
