Too windy (tornado warning) for my usual brisk walk. Hope to get out after dinner -- or perhaps a WATP session with Leslie...

I enjoyed doing laps in the pool today. I know I didn't burn off the calories I consumed.

Thanks! Happy holidays to you, too. Heavy rain is soaking my sleeping bulbs right now. At least it's not snow....yet. Of course, when I say "I'm done," I am not counting the tropical summer bulbs, not hardy in my zone, that I never got planted at all. I brought a few bags of those into the house, not knowing what else to do with them, and saw they were sprouting in the bags. Maybe I'll throw them all together in a pot indoors, and see what happens.....

I have a spring horse we bought for my son (he's now 44) and I have it cut in half lengthwise, with the intention of having the two halves face each other, mounted on my board fence. I intend to fill the cavity with spray foam insulation, so there's no place for hornets to nest. What kind of paint should I use? Is there a primer that I should use? This horse is hard plastic and has been through a raft of children and still looks pretty good, so I'd say it's sturdy. My house is federal blue with yellow trim, so I want to have one horse blue with yellow and the other yellow with blue. Does that sound dumb? So far, this is just in the planning stages, and I don't find anything else in the Garden Junk forum exactly like what I've got in mind. I'd love suggestions....

Wow Jane, I am tired just reading about what all you did! Sounds like a wonderful time and lots of work and effort on your part. What a large group to entertain! So nice that your DH helps you with the decorating. Mine does not help with the inside at all. I carry everything up from the basement including the trees, all the boxes, ladders, etc. The only thing he does outside is put a blow mold Santa on our mailbox, although this year, he did run an extension cord from the backyard for some of the lights as they kept tripping the breaker this year! Again, getting everything down out of the rafters, off of the shelves, and put up is up to me! Sorry, I just needed to vent a little. I get a bit envious when I hear of other DH's that help with decorating. Anyway, looking forward to your pix. TFS, Candy

Are you able to limit usage with parental controls? We are with AT&T and on their website, we can control features of other phones so it can't be used. It sounds like normal stuff teens do. I remember the first month I allowed my kids to use MY spare phone (I didn't get any of them their own phone until they were 17 or 18~ I had 2 phones... one for me & one to give them for emergency use only) and then I got my first bill for over $300 (before they offered texting plans). I am very much in the camp that thinks kids do not need to have a cell phone. Sometimes I think I'm the ONLY person in my camp since everywhere I look, kids are on phones. DH is now wanting to get SD one... she's gonna be 13 & never does what he tells her. Good luck with that one! I want no part of it.

I weeded half of my 30-ft square garden, so hoping that counts in my favor Glenda. Now I'm pitting cherries but I don't think I'm burning any calories doing that. :)

Been chasing 3 kids in a split level house for 2 days. I'm getting LOTS of exercise. Carrying around a 24lb baby is my weight training. Muscles anyone. She will be 1 on the 15th and weighs almost as much as her 3 1/2 y/o brother. Takes after her Daddy's side of the family.
