Food Network Mango soup

2 mangoes, peeled and pitted
2 cups orange juice
12 ounces low or non-fat plain yogurt
2 limes, juiced, plus more as needed
Directions
Cut the mango into a large dice.

Working in batches, puree the mango, orange juice, yogurt, and lime juice, using a blender, food processor, or hand blender until smooth. Taste and add more lime juice, if necessary. Chill for at least 2 to 3 hours and serve cold.

I'd just peel, slice and eat. Yum!

Mango salsa with lots of lime.

Dear MIL just shared one of these with us the other day -- bright yellow, right? She chilled it in the fridge for a day or two, then used a knife to cut the thin peel off the whole fruit. It was slippery & drippy, so she did it over the sink. Then she just cut the flesh off the stone, and we ate it. Delicious! (but not alot of flesh, so not worth trying to make it into a fancy salad or anything). Hope this helped.

Sol's Mango Sorbet

This stuff is devine..No ice cream maker needed..

Mango Sorbet

2 mangos, peeled and roughly cut into chunks
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
pinch of salt

Make a simple syrup by combining 1 cup water with the ½ cup of sugar in a pan. Bring to a boil, and cook until sugar completely dissolves. Cool slightly. Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Chill mixture thoroughly. Then, freeze in ice cream maker, according to manufacturer's instructions.

Sorbets with NO ice cream maker..
No machine needed

So in this case you peel and cube the mango and freeze than follow the rest of the istructions..I've done it in the blender or food processor a few times.

Well, I pretty much butchered the first one, but I think I'll do better with the next. I do like them, though. Now I really want to plant the pit - that should be another interesting new adventure.

Honey mangoes are the best. I had one for breakfast today, diced up and mixed with a little vanilla yogurt.

If I were you, I'd let them get ripe, nice and orange, and then taste one before worrying about recipes.

I love mangoes. When I buy one, I eat the whole thing standing over the sink. It is rather messy.

Macadamia-Mango Chicken

1/2 C soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 T brown sugar
1 T olive oil
1 tsp fresh grated ginger
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Mustard Sauce
3 T. chopped macadamia nuts
Mango Salsa

Combine first 5 ingredients in zip-lock bag. Add chicken. seal and chill 1 hour, turning once. Remove chicken and discard marinade Grill covered with lid 350 - 400 6 minutes on each side or until done. Drizzle with Mustard Sauce sprinkle with nuts and serve with Mango Salsa and rice

Mustard Sauce:

1/2 C Dijon mustard ------ 2 T. pineapple juice
2 T. Light brown sugar ---- 1/8 - 1/4 tsp red pepper

Mango Salsa

2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced --- 2 T chopped fresh mint
1 red bell pepper, diced --- 1 small red onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced --- 2 T. honey
3 T. chopped fresh cilantro or fresh parsley -- 1 T. fresh lime juice
1/4 tsp red pepper --- 1/4 tsp salt

Stir together all ingredients. Chill 2 hours

Barb, to plant the pit, you have to split the shell open----very carefully! The seed is inside the shell.

I would use them in my bikini top at the pool :) LOL...just kidding!

I like papaya's better than mangoes.

Regular mangoes can be sloppy to eat and stringy. The honey mangoes are more like the texture of a peach, but with their own sweet flavor.

You could make a smoothie! Just add some other fruit with it and yogart or a juice would work also. Put it in the blender with some ice or frozen bananas and drink up.

Oh I love them! Cut it up and eat it up!
