alexa, I think you could make them on Friday and not have to refrigerate them at all, if they are to be consumed on Saturday. The frosting "seals" the cakes so they don't get stale and the buttercream frosting just kind of "sets up". Just make sure all your cake is covered or the edges will get dry. Oh, and practice those roses on a piece of parchment or something first, so you can scrape it off and do it over a couple of times. I've done more cake decorating than the average human, although I'm not a professional by any means, and it's not as easy as it looks, I haven't gotten it right yet, in spite of several hours of practice. A KD came in and insisted we use a "step up." I'm so glad I didn't use her or a step up. With kids, or parties, having one big space is so valuable! My suggestion - put supports underneath your overhang only where you actually need them. That way you can buy two stools or three, and see how you like them. Definitely start with less than more, to make sure the stools are comfy for kids and adults. Also, you don't want the kids pushing each other off if they feel squished (mine would do that, lol). I thought we'd fit three but went down to two. Our is a 12" overhang I believe. I'd have to measure to make sure. We have the counter stools (bar stools would be for the step up). Good luck!

Hello all. I am in the ending stages of establishing an online custom cabinet store. I believe where my store is different is that I provide custom cabinets, instead of the many knock-down or stock sites you see now. My intention is not to spam the board, and I hope it is not perceived that way. I know those of you that frequent this particular forum have spent/are spending a huge amount of time researching and designing your kitchen. Because of that I recognize that this forum is a huge resource, and hope to gain a little experience from your shopping/research skills. Navy blue would be great with your existing colors. Door also navy, or staying in the deep red family (I can't quite tell what color it is currently)? For shutter style, I like either the louvered, or board and batten. Board and batten looks a tiny bit more rustic. I don't like the raised panel style, it has too many unnecessary square decorative elements.
