Why can't I post this? Grocery dael!

In February we bought 2 new recliners. One of the reasons we bought at that time was a DEAL offered buy the store. It is called -- Claim Your Groceries. Basically they said $500 free groceries.

I was hoping it was a gift card for $500 worth of groceries. It turns out to be a deal where you save your receipts for one month and when you have $100 worth, you send them in and they send you a gift card for $25. This goes on for 22 months!

We sent in our first receipts in the middle of March and haven't received anything (other than an email notice that they got it) and we have sent them in each month. They did say it would be 8 - 12 weeks before we would get the first one, so that could be 2 more weeks.

We were just wondering if any others have this DEAL, and if anyone is getting their gift cards.

SHEESH! I know I'm nieve, but this is rediculous! I had to reword several parts of this thread so it could be acceptable. I swear all the words were decent!!! LOL

We were at Conlin's last month and they had that. DH said he'd call it a scam! LOL
There you had to buy the groceries in that town...which is 45 miles from us and it wasn't practical.

I hope you get your GC Judy!

Bummer... sounds like a whale of a scam to me after reading nodakgal's link.

Hope your are happy with those recliners!

You can't post pics on here without them coming from a place like Photobucket. So you'll need to set up an account with one of those type places and put your pics in there, then you can transfer them to here. It makes it a little more complicated, unfortunately. Good luck!

And may I second lindsey_ca's request. Please don't make yourself look like a fool by putting in needless amounts of extraneous debris. And often it's caps which again is totally unnecessary. And as I said, only makes you look like a fool. One simple space is all it takes. And the spaces usually don't even show. Or a little time between the posts. Usually if someone else posts after you, you're free to post again anyway.

I had that problem yesterday evening. I would start typing a comment and it ran on and on never dropping to a second line. Then it would not post when I clicked on Submit. No problems this morning. I was finally able to post one comment but not the other.

OK, that last word should be deal!
I still can't imagine why the Garden Web rejected my original thread. There must be some simple word that can be twisted, but I'm baffled by it.

The recliners are great and we were getting them anyway, so we are not really out anything.

I can't believe we fell for this! I thought we were smarter then that.

The Furniture store has been a top furniture store in our town for many decades. I'm going to go out there and see what they have to say about it.

I checked with "Truth or Fiction" and they have many entries, but I found nothing that actually said it is a scam, just questions.

Because we did't get this DEAL on the internet, I didn't think of checking it on here.

If you have a local Better Business organization, I'd give them a call...Also, let the furniture store you making that call...Sometimes just a little friendly "complaint" works miracles.....Good luck....

I went to the link, and from reading the comments it looks like not only do you have to buy $100 of groceries each month to bet your GC you have to use the GC withing 30 days of issue or they are void. If they delay sending them are they still going to be valid? It sounds like a nightmare.

The car dealership I worked at had the same kind of deal. Come in for a test drive and get $100.00 free gas, buy a new car and receive $1000.00 free gas. People would come for the test drive and then ask for the free gas, and when we would explain that you had to go online and register and save receipts and then the company would send you gas cards in $25.00. You had to buy your gas at certain gas stations also. Anyway, within a few months we were receiving complaints about this and found out the company went out of business. Needless to say, the dealership ended up writing out a bunch of cheques to customers to honor the free gas deal.

Our local news site had a story about this that I just saw. Claim Your Groceries filed for bankruptcy.

Yesterday I went to their web site for the first time in at least a month, and they had that notice on there to.

Since the Furniture store is giving us ANOTHER deal for an additional $100 (totaling $600) I'm wondering how we can be sure it will be good. Oh, Well! we spend that much on groceries anyway, so we are going for it!
