I buy mine at Staples and use their brand instead of Canon....but still expensive.
My computer repair person suggested I have mine refilled at Costco if I wanted to save money.

I now have a laser printer so do not need ink but I was taking my cartridges to walgreens and having them refill them for me and it worked great, they often have the coupons on their fliers for a big discount so I would take in several when I had coupons.

I have a HP and take mine into Staples and get a check sent to me. I use HP brand as others seem to not last very long, especially Walmarts. Or order on line from HP.

I don't print much. If there's something I really like, I'll make it a "favorite" rather than printing it out. I buy HP ink at my local Staples. They have a store club card you can join and get free stuff, like free ink and paper after you spend a certain number of dollars.

Cartridge World! I go thru laser toner cartridges like water, at $80+ PER COLOR, it gets expensive!

I used to go to Staples, but Walmart is much cheaper for the Brother laser inks.

If I need it NOW, I go to walmart. Otherwise its eBay for me. It's usaully much less on ebay, youjust gotta wait for the right price. So... when your getting low get some there.

I print a lot of photographs with my Kodak printer and I go through two or three color and at least one black cartridge a month, fortunately the Kodak cartridges are not that expensive to begin with.

Normally I buy both my catridges and genuine Kodak paper at Walmart, and use Staples as my backup source.

I have purchased cheaper cartridges through three different online stores and all three times I was not happy with the results.

I bought my last cartridge at Walmart, but I usually go to Staples. I only buy the brand that came with my printer, never no-name/generic brands. And I never get them refilled.

Don't forget to turn in your old cartridges for future cash at Staples or the like! I buy them either on sale at one of the office supply stores or at BJs

I've been getting mine at Amazon....free shipping if it's over $25.00. I get the HP brand for both my printer and the all-in-one, and the prices were lower than Walmart.

Another thing, with a ink jet printer you have to use it quite a bit, or the ink drys out quickly and can mess up your computer. We found that out when we traveled. When we did not use the computer for 3-4 months, the cartridges dried up, and we had to also fix the computer.

I was getting mine refilled at Walgreens but then my printer quit working even though there was plenty of ink in the cartridge, after so long it will lock up if you don't buy your cartridges through Dell. I'll never buy another Dell product again. I had called to find out how to unlock it and they said they could help me for $100.

I have an HP inkjet and I buy at Office Depot. Its standard cost, but they do participate in HP's empty cartridge return at about $2 per cartridge.

when you purchase your ink, you should let them install it. installing it by yourself would create more damage than good. just my two cents :)

Using re-filled cartridges will invalidate the warranties on many printer.

walgreens, I just found out will refill your cartridges for $12 something each.

My printer is a cheapo, and I'm not gonna pay for new cartridges that cost more than my printer.

I generally get mine at Office depot,we have their card and dh is always buying stuff,BUT the card is in my name so they send me credit cards from time to time for so many dollars,i think the highest one i ever got was for almost 40.00,so i saved it til i needed ink.I have a Lexmark all in one.

I usually either buy at Staples, or through www.hp.com (if HP sends me an e-mail about a sale, with free shipping). Yes, the cartridges are expensive, but I only use HP brands. I tried an off-brand one time, and it was worthless.

I thought that I would go the cheap route and have mine (HP) refilled at Walgreens.

The black is okay but the tricolored one only prints orange.
That was $15 that I should have applied to a new one.

Walgreens didn't fill my # for Lexmark. I went to Target, and bought only black. That was when I started the thread.

Thanks Wanda, I'll check Staples. I threw away my color cartridge cause it was leaking and didn't want to get it on the car. :o(

We got rid of our bubblejet-type printers and went with a black/white laser. A single toner cartridge lasts about 18-24 months and costs about $50. The printer itself cost about $100. We did the math after we realized we never really needed to print anything in color.
