Just talked to DD who lives near OKC.She said it was pretty bad in places but not where they are,thank goodness.

I just brought Moni's house up on the map and compared it to the video report from USA Today. She only lives 4 or 5 blocks from the site of the report. I wish I knew if she was gone already - My senior mind just doesn't hang onto things!

I sure hope they are safe. I left voice mail.

Those things that I counted as blocks may have been miles, but it still doesn't look good!

So Moni did leave on a ride. I hope she is safe, and managed to get far enough from this rain before stopping for the night.

Yes we have red dirt. I kept waiting for it to stop before leaving for work.

Boss canceled afternoon activities and said don't bother coming in.

We've had certain areas flood but never the entire metro.

Sandi in IA. I've traveled through OK a lot in the past going from Dallas/Ft Forth area to Mn. The Red River Valley is aptly named for the red color of the water of the Red River on the border of Tx and OK. The soil is very red in that whole area. Most of OK sits in what is called the Red Basin, geological term. My husbands family has ties to that area. My husband actually has inherited % of a few mineral rights on a few oil wells, like .000001%. He is lucky if he gets a total of $500 per year. Wow, if he actually had a full 1% could retire. I tease him about it, call him my oil baron.

Well, I am thinking you already know, I am back.
Went on a bike ride this morning and found the following covered fences that show, how high the water was, and how fast it was flowing. Grass and weeds are all over the fences in the low areas. Saw water in ditches I have never seen water before.
