Got this from the CF!

Anyone drink it?

Over there, so many do, who would have thunk!

Friend puts her canned beets in leftover pickle juice.

CF said a splash in a martini, potato salad, good for acid reflux, etc.

Soooo??????

I don't drink it. I put some with the mayo and mustard in my potato salad, but that's about it.

I've heard of potato salad and I used to put a dash in my chili, along with a little honey.
I've heard of putting hard boiled eggs in it.

I couldn't drink it.

Old thread, I know, but I'm following it with great interest. linda_lou wrote: "The brine has been diluted with the cucumbers that were in there..." Just wanted to say that this is correct, and that the biggest dilution involved is the salt content. The whole process of brining is made possible by the fact that salt attracts water, effectively 'dehydrating' the fresh water out of the cukes, while simultaneously re-hydrating them, as the fresh water contained in the cukes is drawn out and exchanged with the salt solution from the outside. This process continues until equilibrium is achieved, which means your brine is most certainly diluted. I do reuse commercial pickle juice (I know, unsafe, bacteria, your head will fall off, yada yada - it's my choice, I don't care, and I will continue to do so as I have done for many years) - but I add a rounded teaspoon of kosher salt and a tablespoon or two of distilled white vinegar (per jar) back into the solution beforehand. Works like a charm.

Here's a few ideas I've seen on a lot of sites. Cleaning copper and bbq grills, heartburn cure, hangover remedy, weed killer sprayed on the plants, fertilizer for acid loving plants poured around them, repickling anything really from carrots and onions to watermelon rinds, little bit will make cramps go away quick. It's a great meat tenderizer and is supposedly a good post workout drink lol

I know that followers of homespun folk remedies have strong beliefs. No need to disturb that, There's no magic in pickle juice. Many people have night cramps because they are partly dehydrated; drinking more water during the day often solves the problems. A lack of salts can also play a part, drinking a sports drink supplies several electrolytes and bananas supply potassium. If you want to eat more vinegar, pair it with olive oil and eat more salad.

There are so many false ideas promoted in the posting by Springroz. I have pursued physical fitness for 4 decades. I won't even attempt to link all the articles that de-bunk the loss of femininity due to exercise and weight lifting. There are too many to list. Just do a Google search on Testosterone and women. We have it and we need it and we can't do without it. As far as the idea of reducing movement to increase weight loss. I can't let this pass without citing at least one link. Again please do your research. There isn't ANYTHING worse for the human body than reduced movement and exercise. There is a skating rink here that sells big dill pickles. Then they freeze the juice in little paper cups with a stick in them and sell "picklecicles." How's that for creative thinking? :)

Pickle juice is also go to get rid of leg cramps.
Drink 3/4 to 1 cup and in about 10 to 15 minutes it's gone.
I use this method everytime I get a cramp. It works every time.

I put any kind of pickle juice in potato salad or deviled eggs, along with relish or diced pickles. I used to put dill pickle juice in spaghetti sauce. Yum!
