My giraffe in the dining room. What? Doesn't everyone have a giraffe? LOL Oh, and the picture isn't low, the giraffe is about 7 feet tall.

Giraffe's are so cool, and popular. There's one (very tall) in a store where LuckyGardner lives, but it's not for sale.

Guestroom after a makeover in February of this year!

Me (and Gary in background) opening my birthday present from Gary this year. This is a hand carved wood wall hanging of a moose standing among the trees in a swampy area. I fell in love with it months before in a gift shop downtown and Gary surprised me with it. Here in the north woods you gotta love cabiny moose, bear, and wolf stuff! :-)

Liz - your guest room looks great!! Your furniture is beautiful. When can I come stay? lol

About a year ago there was a post asking people to show pics of their kitchens and there are some real nice ones!

This is our foyer...with a few of my antiques. I just got the table with the plant on it in Utah last weekend. If you click on the photo, it will take you to the original which identifies the antiques.

jel48 , that moose wood carving is absolutely gorgeous. I am currently in the market for a wild life wall piece. That would fill my needs/wants very nicely. What can you tell me about it? I have been looking at scroll saw types and not finding just what I am looking for.

Here's my "Old Hall" stainless tea set in the Connaught pattern. Mid-century modern at its best.

I had the set displayed on a vintage Pfaff sewing machine cabinet, but now it's packed away again due to more construction.

I love my kitchen, just wish the rest of the house looked as nice. We've been "remodeling" other rooms in the house for the last two years which means ... we've been thinking a lot about it. LOL Would really, really like to get the ball rolling but there always seems to be something else to do, like work, hiking, travel, processing photos, etc.

We've got so many remodel projects on the back burner, it's truly overwhelming for people like us who can't seem to make a decision. Though I think I've recently found a contractor/designer that knows who I am and can help make some decisions much easier for me.

Nicole, is that grass cloth you have on your wall? My kitchen actually won't be completed until I figure out what to do with one of the walls. I'm thinking of using grass cloth. Again, indecision is the bane of my existence.

jodi.....yep....grass cloth. It's a heavy one with knots. I'd put grass cloth in your house. :0)Yep, projects are time consuming. we need to install the fireplace on the lower patio we have sitting, stored under the house.....by the time we install it, it will be out of style. :0)

You have a backyard??? No fair! LOL Postage stamps are bigger than our back yard. So sad.

I actually decided on a grasscloth for the kitchen wall but it was so long ago I'm sure it's been discontinued. So sad.

Decision and the potential for disappointment or doing something wrong absolutely terrifies me. It's a wonder we even have a new kitchen, though I have to admit, we owned the house for 25 years before we finally made the decision to do it. Again ... so sad. :-)

jodi....here's the 411 on grass cloth....had someone over that ran their hand over it and said, "STRAW!". The wife then said, "Expensive straw!". lol Then someone else asked me why I had a desk in my entry way. I said people put secretaries in entryways and those are desks. So my decorating style doesn't agree with "everyone". Pleasing the masses and taking a risk....I take the risk. So ya need to just jump in there! :0)

You have a secretary??? All I have is a husband and he won't even take notes! LOL

Well, I think you and I are on the same decorating page Nichole so I'm good with that. "Everyone" else can have their paint and coat racks. :-)
