What size is your counter overhang for soapstone/other stones?

Trying to figure this out. I know 1.5" is the "normal" overhang from the cabinet frame. Our cabinet doors are almost an inch thick, so our frameless cabinets are 25" deep---giving us a half-inch overhang over the doors if we use the standard. Counters are soapstone.

We also have flush inset cabinets that will definitely have a 1" overhang from the doors/frame. They will have wood counters.

Questions...

- Should we bump the soapstone overhang to 2" from the frame/1" from the door fronts to be consistent with the wood counter, or does it really not matter? (If 1/2" is just as good, we'll stick with the standard since we're paying by the square foot, so it's cheaper! :) If it matters, handle projection is 1".

- We have one cabinet edge. Should the overhang for that be the same as the overhang past the doors on the frameless cabinets (so 1/2" or 1" instead of 1.5" or 2")?

Thanks!
