Faucet decision?

I think we are decided on Waterstone just need to decide style- traditional plp pull down or Annapolis and side sprayer?

I didn't like any side sprayer options - for me it's just one more thing to wipe around when cleaning up.

So - I went for the PLP Traditional and I love it.

I, too, had the hardest time with the faucet decision. Don't know why with all the other decisions that that one was so hard for me. Anyway, I love my faucet. I did get a sidespray, but it was offered without one. Mine's from American Standard, and that, I think, is what initially gave me pause before pulling the trigger and ordering it. It's not one of the brands that I kept hearing and reading about in this forum, and it cost considerably less than many of the others I was considering. My plumber said he's had good experiences with their products, so I went with it. It's gotten lots of use in the 6 months since I've had it, and I'm very happy with the the feel, looks and quality. I went with chrome, but I think it came in other finishes. My lever handles are porcelain, but I think you could get just the metal finish. They are easy to turn on & off - I like that I can use just the top of my hand to push them when my hands are sticky from cutting fruit or breading something, etc. I don't know how to attach a link to this post, but you can see my faucet set pretty clearly on the sink view in the photos in the Finished Kitchens Blog. I believe it gives the internet source where I bought it, as well. I was very pleased with their customer service and good pricing. Good luck with your search!

Need advice on prerinse faucets! Decision by this week!

perel: Wow, great advice. I had always made the simplistic assumption that gpm = "power". I based that on the miserable performance of our existing faucets (Cifials). We replaced older faucets (brand no longer remembered) with them. I had hoped they would be an upgrade, but I had not taken into account the fact that I had pulled the flow restrictor out of the old faucet. The new Cifial was miserably slow, and I could not figure a way to remove the restrictor. But, makes sense that pressure is also an important consideration. I guess my question is, how do I know ahead of time which prerinse generates enough pressure, or flow, or both, to be satisfying? I'm still hoping for feedback from current owners of prerinse faucets. Ironically, with an IKEA not 10 minutes from my house, I had never considered them. I think it's because I grew up near the first IKEA to open in the US, near Phila, and back then, their stuff was cute, cheap, but CHEAP quality-wise as well. Sounds like they have evolved to more quality, and I'll drop by and look at their prerinse. If you do install the IKEA, please post your experience: I'm sure others would love to know too. Thanks. I agree with the above posters. We had stainless steel sink before, and were about to buy a Kraus stainless sink, but then I read about Silgranit sinks on this forum. We've had our Silgranit Super Single sink in anthracite (black) for a year and a half, we are not careful with it, and it looks like the day it was installed. I would never go back to stainless. The silgranit never shows water stains, does not scratch, and bye-bye to stainless steel's dull film (never going back to a double bowl either, but that's another thread). I had to laugh at Consumer Reports that A2gemini mentioned. Yes, they dropped a heavy pan from a height onto the sink. Had they done that to a stainless sink, it would have dented, had they done that to an enameled cast iron sink, it would have chipped off the enamel, had they done it to a counter, it would have chipped or cracked. Consumer Reports never likes anything that is newer than 10 years, and goes out of its way to "prove" those dang newfangled things aren't as good as the old standby. We chose the silgranit anthracite color cause it looks really good against our granite, and the contrast with our chrome Kraus faucet KPF-1602 makes the faucet sparkle. So, I prefer the dark colors of anthracite and cafe brown, but that is individual preference. Regarding buying a sink online, it is really important to buy a Silgranit sink from a reputable seller who is an authorized dealer for Blanco. When we do hear of cracks in Silgranit sinks, it almost always occurs during shipping. We bought ours from qualitybath (learned about on this forum), and it came tripled-packed, completely inert in its packaging. We bought our Kraus faucet from expressdecor, and it was also expertly packed; expressdecor usually has coupon discounts from 5-15% so make sure you check that out on their homepage.

Thanks for your input. I think you are right about the black with the soapstone. I don't know if I will keep the counters oiled or not, so black it will not be! I am leaning towards the Bellera, although the Cruette and Simplice are not out of the running. I keep thinking stainless is the right choice, but the Kohler stainless finish really isn't my favourite, ugh. Down to the last decisions, so I am second guessing myself constantly!!

Katy- we have the Waterstone PLP 5400.
I love the faucet - although I am waiting for a replacement head from WS
The water pressure on the WS is based on California standards - so if you want super water pressure - it will be lower than that - but it is more than our old junk faucet, so happy with it.
Yes- I think I am the only person who has ever had a WS issue - I am sure it will be resolved.

Katy-lou, in response to your comment, I had always read that side sprays have less water pressure than the faucets where the spray is integrated into the faucet. Something about having to divert /divide the water to another line, vs. using one line for both.

In any case, I am with Doc8404. I am always looking to minimize my cleaning tasks, and eliminate any additional crevices where grime could gather. I've got plenty already, thank you. So I would not get a side spray for that reason.

I'm linking an older thread which has so many pictures of faucets installed in GWers' kitchens. If you decide on something other than a Waterstone, perhaps there is one in this thread that appeals.

The 5600 PLP traditional. Now do we need those other accessories? Hadn't really planned on it - we already wired for a traditional switch for the GD - although now wondering about an air switch or batch model . . .

This was an unplanned remodel - our dishwasher leaked and so had to dry it out and demo - thus we are making decisions as we need to. Problematic at times and sometimes allows for us to evolve the concept as we go

Love my 5500 PLP Traditional. I think you've made a good choice.

What other accessories are you considering other than an air switch? I purchased an air switch and then ended up not using it. No real reason other than I decided I really preferred keeping it on the wall switch. I have soap dispensers at both sinks and they've both worked great. No problems with clogging at all. I use Dawn and both are hooked up to a NeverMT,
