I'm not sure what you're asking... Are you asking if it's OK to have seating w/a 3/4" overhang???? [an emphatic "no" to that!] Or are you saying you can only do a 3/4" overhang on the other sides if you do a 12" seating overhang? [How far do your doors "stick out" past the cabinet carcass (box)? The overhang should at least cover the door. If you have inset, then 3/4" is fine...even less if you're looking for a "contemporary" or "commercial" look.] Or, something else? What will the aisle width be on the seating side? BTW...15" is considered the minimum for a counter-height overhang. Yes, many do 12", but many of those have stated they sit "sideways" or "straddle" the island w/only 12". Are you comfortable with that? We have 15" and it's fine for me at 5'10" but my 6'5" DH (who has short legs, btw) wishes we had done 18" If your kitchen is that tight, will you have room for seating at all?
