Oil option for finishing Zebrawood Butcher block \ Countertop

Kasdin

We are installing a endgrain zebrawood countertop on our kitchen island. Our contractor droped off a sample that was finished with a 'standard butcher block oil.'

The oil produced a darker stain than we would prefer.

So my question is, are there alternative oils that can be used to 'finish' the wood so that it will not darken as much?

I know that people recomend mineral oil, bees wax, raw lintseed oil, pure tung oil, etc. But I cannot find what each of these do to darkness of the wood.

Is there a 'buther block oil' product that will not darken it as much?

Thanks for any advice in advance.
