The salesperson I normally deal with was going on vacation and he told me I could place the order with anyone because they were not on commission. I didn't like the salesperson I was dealing with but did not want to be rude, so I placed the order with her. I probably would have gotten better info from my regular guy. I called the manufacturer and they told me I could have had the stools made anywhere from 24-30 inches. Sigh. They cannot be returned angela12345 because they were a custom order. On a positive note, I have been a regular customer of the furniture store for many years. They have taken the stools back and are looking to see if they can add some inches under the seat. If they can't maybe you can give me some pointers on eating at chest level:)

Well, it's half-impressive. I got the painters who did the whole house to paint out the cabinets. I hired professionals to manufacture and install the marble countertops. And the floors were installed by professionals. But we raised and moved around cabinets, did the demo, clad the island and added new toe kicks and end panels, etc. We're the IKEA tung/linseed oil actually. I read up about it online and it was really well reviewed by finishing carpenters who were surprised by the quality of the product when they tried it out. The island is a custom hard block maple though. We used the IKEA solid oak butcher block in the laundry room, and it's not super great quality. I'm glad we didn't use it in the kitchen.

In the first plan, I do like the closet placement in the master, but both bedrooms limit furniture placement. The Second plan makes furniture placement more flexible. It is unfortunate that as you walk in from the front door, you see the kItchen before anything else; at least the first plan leads you through the labyrinth to a view out the windows. And in the second, entering from the garage forces you to walk around to the bedrooms. If you could combine the half-bath and full-bath, you could have the laundry also be a walk-through to the bedrooms (and I just love having circulation opportunities in a house).

Lovely kitchen. Lindsey's suggestion seem to go with your modern kitchen. (get 3) I would also change up the lights over the island. They appear a little small.
