Does anyone have this Franke prep sink?
Comments (6)Hindsight is 20/20 and yes, i would have gone a little bigger. I did have the room for it in my cabinet and my KD did not think a bigger sink was necessary. I should have gone with my inner voice. I do however have a huge main sink, which i love! I do recommend the grid. I have the grid in both my sinks and think they are useful. Just my opinion though. It is so hard to make all the right choices when one is making so many at once!! I hope I have been helpful in some small way....See MoreI don't think I have room for a prep sink... but do I Need one?
Comments (7)Good, I'm glad you all seem to concur with my conclusion. I'd hate to give up precious counter space for another smaller sink. Seems like it wouldn't work in my kitchen. I do not like the setup of my frig/oven wall. I will have to work on that when we get to that point!...See MoreAnyone regret getting a single 10" deep sink?
Comments (41)We love our single 24"x 10" deep sink! But this is a big move up for us. The old sink was a small "D" shaped 21"x8" single bowl. When my dad first saw my old sink he asked where the other bowl was because it looked like half of a double bowl! My DH is 6'4" and I was concerned that the new sink would bother his back, reaching down and into the sink. He sometimes complained about the reach down in the old sink. The grid in the new sink helps. And we usually have it piled with dirty dishes anyway so there isnt a reach reach down! Haha. We like having the full cookie sheet option. And I have a dishpan I can add if I want to split the space to soak anything....See MorePrep Sink Size?? Any regrets-smaller or larger?
Comments (10)I think it depends on what and how you cook. Despite my prep sink being large by most standards -- 18" wide by 19" deep by 9" (a 7 1/2" undermount) -- my cooking would be easier with a larger one. That's because I prep several fresh vegetables at the same time and it would be easier if I had room to soak and drain more at the same time. But my kitchen is small and sink size was a trade-off with having enough counter space. YMMV. BTW, this sink is not big enough for my cookie sheets. So measure your equipment if that's important to you. If you want a larger sink but are supposedly limited by space, do your own research. Our cabinets were ordered back when we were still too naive to know how small a 25.5" cabinet for the cleanup sink was, so we were very unhappy at sink selection time. My DH went on-line and found a 25" x 22" (drop-in with corner hole) that Ferguson's hadn't offered us, but did sell to us. It didn't even need the neighboring cabinets to be notched (another way to get a larger sink)....See Moreholligator
