I am glad your Christmas dreams are coming true.

We may get a white Christmas here in Atlanta. (okay, maybe an inch but hey, that's a lot for us).

DH pulled snow down from the roof this week here in St. Paul. We have a mound almost as high as the rain gutter on the one-story part of the house--we can view it from backside through the newly installed bathroom replacement window. The room is dark whether it's day or night.

They say we haven't had this snowy a December since 1969. This is the snow memory of my childhood. DH has foregone work on the house because he's been plowing neighborhood driveways. Meanwhile, my children in Alaska have written about all the cold they've had--cars and computers just give up, house heaters quit, etc. etc. etc.

Still haven't unpacked much of the Christmas stuff, etc. but we're using the new kitchen and trying it out in new situations, but can't schedule a full 10-on-the-Richter-Scale Christmas dinner yet and have only experimented with new convection oven twice. Will have 10 for dinner tomorrow, pot luck style, with improvised decor. Macybaby, you'll have your kitchen soon enough to be actually ready for Christmas 2011, I suspect. Perhaps you will entice your kids to join you. And I'll join you from a distance, I sure hope.

Now I know why I've put this off for so long - it's a bear painting cabinets that are up on the wall! I'm tempted to take them down, but I don't have anywhere to put them as just about every other surface has something else on it.

I'm not going to paint the inside of the ones that will have solid doors. It's so much easier to paint the inside of a cabinet before it's assembled.

Taking a break to make supper, and then I'll be back at it. I want to get all the uppers primed and a first coat of paint before I head to bed.

You go girl! I am the same way, always calculating how far ahead I can get by just getting that extra coat of paint on before bed! What did you end up with for a brand and color?

macybaby, next Christmas you'll be cooking an amazing dinner in a beautiful kitchen that you'll be accustomed to.

I'm just southwest of Denver and we have NO snow and it was warm enough to take the dogs for a walk without a jacket--sunny & warm. Golf course was busy so we couldn't shoot rockets this year. :( It's just weird to have Christmas with such warm weather--it's like living in LA again! Wish you or florantha could send some snow our way!

Here's our new 12 x 25 kitchen & lobby addition early on the weekend before Christmas. Note the snow pile on left side--this is before DH pulled snow from roof again and piled it higher. Now, the plow bank is so tall on street that you can't see those plants along boulevard.

A grateful thank-you to the cement crew who found time in late October to pour the front step and the center of the driveway. Being able to shovel a flat surface is far superior to shoveling dirt and rocks and straw as we did last year.

I suspect that our eastern seaboard posters might have a couple snowy photos for us now.
