Help! Need floors to match Walnut cabinets/light counters

Hi All -- This is my first post after lurking around for a while. I've just signed on the dotted line to start a full gut kitchen remodel in our 1930's Spanish Revival home. After much deliberation, we finally decided upon the cabinets for the remodel - shaker-style walnut cabinets (clear coat) to keep them from getting to dark. We really love the warm brown tone of walnut. (The cabinets are from Aristocratic Cabinet).

We have also decided to go with a light quartz countertop -- Caesarstone in Champagne Limestone.

The backsplash will be light green glass subway tiles.

Anyway, we need a floor - the rest of the house has the original red oak floors. Unfortunately, the kitchen does not have them as well. We thought originally about trying to match, but we're worried that new floors in the kitchen will make the old floors look worse than they are. I also wouldn't mind something different to help set the rooms apart.

We've looked at just about everything from slate to porcelain tile to cork to marmoleum.

Any ideas? Anyone do anything similar?
