Does Gardenweb have a favorite white paint kitchen cab color?
Comments (8)*BM White Cloud and Cloud White are different colors! I have Cloud White, and Cloud White is the color I hear more often, not White Cloud! Ironically, I was thinking about those two similar names with the intention of NOT typing the wrong one... Confession: I mixed a couple shades of white I was unhappy with together, and the resulting color match is the same formula as the color match to Cloud White (total coincidence). In that sense, I didn't even pick my white, and I had actually already rejected Cloud White as being too "creamy" for my space. Now that it's done...I like it and it's warm, not stark. All that rambling to say that you'll probably be just fine even if your conditions aren't perfect, with lighting and flooring, etc. in place. :)...See MoreFavorite SW colors for off white cabs?
Comments (10)I have a number of SW off-white colors swatched up on my LR walls as we speak! I am off to get a quart of Dover White this evening to swatch on my walls. I'm thinking it might be "the one" - I'm wanting a warm creamy white, with a hint of yellow, but that doesn't really look yellow. Summer white is a pretty color - unfortunately on my walls it went a little lemony - nice, but just not what I wanted. Txgal06 - does it look yellow on your walls? Or does it look more white once its on all of them? We have maple floors which have ambered, and lots of south-facing sunlight, so I'm thinking that may make every color in our LR a little more yellow. Plus right now i just have primer on there, and everything looks colored next to white-white primer. You might also want to try Greek Villa or Westhighland White. Be careful on their sample pots with some of the really light colors, they can't always mix them properly. My sample pots of those two colors have the exact same formula. You have to buy a bigger quantity for some of the paler colors....See MorePaint color for kitchen cabs and island?
Comments (22)And please remember that photos of white kitchens are just a starting point. The light is really determining how they look. Photos of my old kitchen make them look bright white, but that is because they were photographed professionally in that picture. And they wanted it very bright. The same white will look different in each of our homes. I think you should go get the paint chips, bring to your house and look at with the counters there. If you are not in yet, then do not rush the color decision. It doesn't take the painter that long to have the paint mixed up! You need to see the color in your space in various lights with your granite. You cannot make this decision before you move in, or on a quick visit to the house at 5 pm. Ok? Take all the creamy white suggestions, go get the paint chips and then, when you are in there you will be able to eliminate probably all but 2 or 3....See MoreWhat color paint with a lt.maple cab. and a deep green granite?
Comments (16)This is my kitchen, too. I don't have pictures yet as I am experiencing some problems getting the right size vent installed over the Blue Star range. Can't wait to start using it! Anyway, I have natural maple cabinets, golden-stained red oak floors, and was fortunate to find a reasonably-priced, beautiful slab of Costa Esmeralda (not installed yet, either), but I used BM powdered sand in my relatively dark kitchen. It reads light yellow except when the sun shines bright in the late afternoon when it is close to white. I really like how it goes with the natural maple. I am a green person (LR & DR) are shades of green, but did not want green close to the cabinets because in some lights, it makes the maple read pink and I wanted the cabinets to stay closer to natural....See MoreUser
