Yes, Luvs, I've been adding a few witch things to my Halloween stuff. I'm really not into all the usual stuff like ghosts n goblins, jack o' lanterns, etc. but I do love witches and ravens. And of course witches have kitties. LOL. How neat, Kathleen, that you (and Candy) also got married in 1970. And Jane, you ate at the Outback too. ;o) Plus, Nana, some of us really like Dancing with the Stars. I think Candy previously nailed it about our Holiday gang having so many little things in common outside of just holiday decorating. Even the same furniture, or same figurines. Maybe this is why we seem more of a family, or a group of really long-time friends. Time, and distance, matters little it seems, some people are just meant to come into your life and make you feel like kindred spirits. I am always in awe of our group here, and the closeness/caring we share so easily with one another. I doubt any of us expected this when we found this Forum, we just wanted to share some Holiday decorating! ;o) By the way, here's the flowers Jas and Suz sent...and the two dolls I kept from my Mom's collection. These dolls come named, so that is Victoria on the left and Rebecca on the right. Thanks, Gang. I really appreciate everything you say. About the speckled pumpkin, yes it is ceramic. I found it last year at Joann's on sale. OA, the glitter pumpkins in the apothecary jar aren't ornaments, just table decorations. The "spotty glasses" are cute by the way. Jeanne, I don't like using glitter either but I learned two things. First one, do it outside. LOL. I usually take a shallow box, to catch the excess glitter and reuse it, and hold the item over it or sit it in the box. Also, a gal told me to put glitter in a salt shaker as it gives good control. Truthfully, I rather BUY glittered stuff. LOL. I remembered this morning, thank goodness, that I'd bought a Pilgrim Nutcracker months ago. So got him out of my closet and he's now next to the new tall apothecary jar. I also felt the green turkey on the kitchen counter was lacking, so added a slim little green vase of colorful faux mums to her and the Dollar Tree platter arrangement. hugs, Karen who's still trying to find a place for her 4 S&P turkey sets!!

Me, me, me!!!! I made 3 batches of cookies today, wrapped all the presents that I have bought so far, mailed my Christmas cards, and finished the laundry. So I am gonna settle in for the whole 3 hours and not feel one bit guilty. I didn't clean my house at all this weekend. But in my opinion, something's gotta give at the holidays, and I vote for housework. If someone comes and complains, I'll just shove a cookie in their mouth and distract them! LOL I volunteered for a very difficult and dangerous job this weekend...............I had to bring home 2 bags of Holiday M&Ms and wrap them in individual sevings for a class project. (Parents were supposed to send in individually wrapped candy, like Hershey's Kisses or Mini Reeses PB Cups.) I took it upon myself to do the job, since someone had to do it. Now, I have to tell you that there were defective M&Ms in both bags; and I, as quality control inspector, couldn't let them pass. I had to eat them in order to spare the poor unsuspecting souls who are supposed to receive the candy. It wasn't pleasant, but it had to be done!!! That is my story and I am sticking to it! (I still haven't eaten the M&Ms that I brought home and hid. And I only ate one cookie from each batch today - a record for me! LOL) Now I have to finish cleaning the kitchen and pack my lunch for tomorrow, then I can finally sit down and relax. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Marci

Oceanna, I'm in the process of going thru them, I've looked at so many pics, I'm getting lost in them LOL. Annie1971, what I'm looking to do is not so much a "theme" room or decor but something that reflects the beauty of the colors found in nature in the tropics and at the beach. BTW, I'm close to the SE Coast, Sandhills of SC. My landscaping is going to have a lot of Banana trees, Palms, and tropical plants with a lot of lush green. I'm also planning some roses, lillys and annuals with an eventual Koi pond. For instance, it's an instant archetecture(sp), color, decor and garden feast for me when I visit Charleston SC. That is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life. I had the same reaction to the the beauty of the Bahamas. My house is a ranch style, about 2200 Sq Ft., nothing fancy yet. I chose a light Cape Cod grey exterior, charcoal colored roof, white trim and black shutters. I have a lot of windows/natural light in the living areas, and Master Suite. My office is on the sunny side of the house and DH's is on the darker side, making the perfect Mechanical Engineer CAD station cave for him. I'm strongly leaning toward Blues/Blue/grays in the dining, kitchen and open living room adjacent to them. The one room I've done so far is my hall bath, darker side of the house with white marble countertops, double sink and white fixtures. I chose a nice blueish (if that is a word LOL) seafoam green (I used SW Forrest Glen) with bright white crown moulding and other trim. I have bright white plantation blinds and accented with decor in sand, peach, shell pink and taupe. I've some pictures on Flickr that I can link to. I used a nice thick group of white sheers as curtains to give the "Key West" feel to the room. This kinda gives an idea what I'm trying to go for. Sometimes I'm not the best with words. LOL Please feel free to critique, as I'm looking for ideas and the best ones for this house. I'm not looking to make this a "resale" house, I plan on livinghere a long, long time.
