Where to (safely) put the Toaster Oven?

Hi everyone!

Appliance shopping continues!

I'm toying with the idea of getting a "do it all" toaster/convection oven like the Breville BOV800XL instead of having a separate toaster and microwave. (Hopefully the Breville can reheat leftovers as well as a microwave can.)

But, I'm reading that the Breville, and pretty much all toaster ovens, produce a lot of heat and are poorly insulated. So - where can they safely go in a kitchen?

Is putting it on a counter which has upper cabinets above it a bad idea? Does it need to be on a counter with Nothing above it? What about a large cubby like cabinet with no doors, or an open shelf above the counter?

Thanks for your help!
