Comments (11)Steve, Tech specs and color choices aside, which would you advise is the better stove? Which gets more service calls? Which has service calls or parts replacements rectified more quickly? What sort of feed back have you received from your customers? Have you run them through their courses to gather empirical information to help the consumer on a level other than burner count, slight BTU delta's and the aesthetics of the knobs? For the record I do understand what you trying to accomplish with your bake off. However, to show real value add in a head to head you do need to stand down from the fence and demonstrate "in the field" benefits and one of them will stand above the other. Again, I hark back to a car analogy, I'm a car guy too :-). If you read a review on a BMW 335i stacked up against a Buick Roadmaster (I get that is not period correct, but hear me out) you will see where I come from in my skepticism of your head to head. The Buick has a 5.7L engine vs. 3.0L in the 335i, point Buick. The Buick had a faux wood-paneling option vs just the monotone color of the 335i, point Buick. The Buick has more cargo capacity that a 335i, point Buick. The Buick has four doors, as does the BMW, draw. Looking at 0-60 times, the BMW takes a point. Interior quality, beige 3M cotton and plastic in the Buick, Premium leathers and real wood, point BMW. No discussion of customer satisfaction, number of times the cars are taken to the shop for repair, cost of repairs, road acoustics, fuel efficiency, crash test safety....etc. This test shows that it is a draw. A BMW 335i is equivalent to a Buick Roadmaster*..................anyone buy this? *Buick is no longer in business....See Morewolf/viking/dcs 48' df range
Comments (3)You need to check out whether or not DCS has upgraded their ovens on the DF. When they first came out 5 years ago the electric ovens did not have true convection, did not have hidden elements and did not have rolling racks (even though their electric wall ovens had those features). If they haven't added those features I would definitely go with the Wolf DF. My the way I've had a AG DCS 30" range for 5 years and have been very pleased with it....See MoreViking, wolf, dcs, blue star? need help 36' gas range
Comments (15)Just saw this quote on applianceadvisor.com Submitted by Appliance Stallion on Mon, 04/20/2009 - 6:16pm. As I stated ,I took a survey of 103 dealer/distributor types who spoke on the record as long as they would remain confidential as to who they are. Typical for surveys I guess. Here are the results.Best is first...1. Thermador. Most comments on the PRD364EDG 2. Kitchen Aid. A surprise.3. GE Monogram. Another surprise.4. Wolf.5. Dacor.6. Viking. For the top rated ones people liked the look but more importantly ease of use and service response. For the others it was a matter of service response and product difficulty in some of the uses. Apparently they all assume each company will have some problems and it is the response and corrective action that is most important. Funny , but the look was not as important as in earlier years, a surprise to me . Nothing terrible to say. Just their opinions' Here is a link that might be useful: Appliance Advisor forum on Dual Fuel Ranges...See MoreHead exploded --- Wall ovens and Range --- ????

It was nearly 9k and my husband went with me too look at it and the first thing out of his mouth was, “the racks feel cheap.” And then budget reality set in. The Samsung had all the features the Miele has, but in the end I chose a Bertazzoni instead. I’m extremely happy with the oven. Turbo mode finished off a casserole in 20 minutes that used to take my old Frigidaire 40 ish..... it’s a beautiful oven. I skipped the assistant and instead bought the 2 Gide out racks separately (only $90 each and they’re well made). Thermador wanted $325 for a glide out rack). Had the appliance repairman out for a bosh dryer and he said he likes the Bertazzoni. It’s all mechanical and easy to fix. Unfortunately the bosh dryer went home with the repairman (it’s under warranty). So far I’m very impressed with our Bosch service (he repairs pretty much everything). I got a Thermador steam oven. I LOVE that oven. I haven’t had an issue cleaning it. Miele had a broiler and a plumbed version, but for 2k more it wasn’t worth it. And the Bertazzoni has a much more powerful broiler (but I’m an occasional broiler user). I agree the choices and prices are enough to drive one insane....See Morebreezygirl
