We are going with a white silgranit sink and Cinder Caesarstone (light grey), a bit less dramatic than yours, but I was wondering the same thing.

I think yours will work if you make it a feature - it will probably be the highest contrast you have in the kitchen and as such, will immediately draw focus.

Hmmm, don't know if I want high contrast. I could go with a brown or black Silgranit. These decisions are driving me crazy! Thanks for your response, gursk!

We're doing charcoal soapstone with a white cast iron sink, and I like it for the contrast---however, we also have white appliances, so it's not the only white thing in the room.

More important than what color, would be what KIND of sink do you want? I, for example, can't stand stainless sinks. They are loud. They scratch. They always have water marks on them. Even if stainless went better with my appliances and color choices, I would NOT do stainless.

Silgranite sinks aren't loud; they don't scratch; and they don't show watermarks. I think brown silgranite would be great with your finishes. Blanco seems to make a better product than Elkay and others.

I think the white would be beautiful. It would be a contrast, but it will be an undermount sink so I don't think it will be a focal point.

If you don't want stainless, don't get it. Don't get talked into something you'll regret later.

The brown Blanco silgranits I've seen are GORGEOUS! The brown is rich, deep and yummy. Again, I think it would work with what you describe. Can you take a sample of the Ceasarstone and paint to a plumbing supply showroom to look at it in person? Or you could call/email Blanco for a sample of their darker silgranit. I did that, and samples came very quickly. The samples are small, but at least you have a hands-on visual to show GC.

I had a white sink before demo. They are classically beautiful. I loved it, but it got scratched over the years and my water here leaves orangey/brown marks around the sink-mounted faucet. Undermount would have alleviated that problem for me. Still, it showed dirt and any little gray surface mark all the time. For a while, I scrubbed it every night. Now with the little kids, I don't have the energy to do that. A dark silgranit sink won't show all that stuff! Someone here wrote that they actually had to REMIND themselves to clean the sink because you couldn't see the gunk!

We had tropic brown granite in our last house with a white undermount sink. The cabs were natural maple, not white, but we did have white appliances. I think, especially with white cabinetry that you are planning, a white sink would look wonderful if that is something you still want to consider.

I have dark counters and stainless sink, but I do think that white sinks/white appliances are like white trim. I guess you either like that or not, and I like it!!!
They just look clean and fresh. I do have dark countertops and white sinks in my new bathrooms and I love it.
