I just got my Rohls. It's a left drain sink and there seems to be some pooling on the very left side if I move the faucet all the way to the left and run the water. When I run the water with the faucet in the middle, the water goes down properly. Unfortunately, I went to two local shops who said I couldn't look at what they had in stock and pick and choose. And by the time I ordered the in-stock was gone so I had to take what was shipped. I'm going to have the contractor take a look but I think I will just have to be careful not to swing the faucet all the way to the left or I have to use a sponge and move the water to the drain. Not something I would have hoped for for the cost of the sink but since the sink is so large, I think I might be able to get around the problem. My KD was actually against the farm sink for practical reasons. Will see how I like it after a year. It looks gorgeous I added a thin piece of trim below the sink to help prevent water from running down and ruining the cabinet. I will also put a towel on the sink for every day use and just remove it when I have company We got the Modern Lux pull down faucet from Rohl The plumber felt it wasn't their usual quality. He had to take it apart and put it back together so that it got good flow. He thought something in the cartridge was slightly misaligned. So, I do wonder if something is going on with the company.

I too am frustrated that Blanco doesn't have 30" single bowl sinks. I think I am going to go with the Precis Cascade Super Single. It fits in a 33" base. I was able to see one at my local plumb supply shop. They have a showroom with many products in displays so people can get a feel for them. You also might find one at a kitchen and bath store with displays. Call your plumber to see if such a showroom exist in your area. The short apron allows for regular sized doors underneath. It is installed on a standard sink base cabinet and so is often used in a remodel / refresh in which the cabinets are not being changed. This is why I used the short apron style - I was able to use my old sink base. (Pics of my kitchen in my "my pics" idea book.) I have heard that a new laminate counter can be made to have an undermount sink. I have never seen it and haven't heard anything either positive or negative about how it works out. I do not think that an older laminate counter could be changed to handle an undermount - but I don't know for sure - maybe Joe will stop by with some advice on that. There are some decent quartz sold through Menards and Home Depot - LG and others. You might find that waiting a few months and saving a little extra will get you more of what you want - especially if you have a functioning kitchen. I was putting away $200-$300 away a month for my kitchen. I got my countertops on a 6mo same as cash deal and also on sale at Menard'sand with a rebate - paid for half and made payments for 6 mo without interest so was able to order and get started. I rarely do that, but knew the $ would be there. Wood is also often used with undermount sinks - probably takes some care, but another option. The only overmount farm sink that I know of is the Ikea which is fireclay.

I have an undermount Blanco Stellar 28" stainless steel sink, with drain offset to the center rear; this was the largest sink for a 30" cabinet that I found at the time - I wanted the offset drain to maximize the storage space underneath. The product description says it requires a 33" cabinet, but it fits nicely into my 30" cabinet. I have a garbage disposal, and a soap dispenser too. The sink is plenty big enough for cookie sheets (26" interior length!) I am very happy with it. BTW with the offset, center drain/garbage disposal, I have room on one side for a pullout for the trash and recycling (from Rev-a-shelf), and a shallower pullout on the other side (because of piping in the rear of that side, from Target) that holds the compost pail (the small Ikea stainless steel step-open trash can), sponges, cleanser, and so forth. I also added an Ikea Variera pullout- about 5" w 21" d 4" t -- that attached to the side wall of the cabinet, for sundries like an small extension cord, tape, tape measure. Unfortunately I don't think Ikea offers that anymore - but perhaps something similar is out there somewhere.
