Caesarstone...how has it held up?
Comments (9)I have 6 year old counters in white Caesarstone "quartz reflections". The island is a double thick "look" with a mitered edge. I have easily removed permanent marker, dried nail polish, dried acrylic paint, crazy glue, red wine and many other things left by 3 messy kids and others. Not a single chip even on the more delicate mitered edge. I have placed hot pans on it and even dropped one or two. I have since stopped placing hot pans on the surface only because I don't want to test the thermal crack theory. The only surface I would change it for would be a beautiful marble, but that is going in the complete opposite direction of the durability spectrum. Maybe when the kids are a bit older! Anyway, I hope this helps. CML...See MoreWhite quartz - does red wine stain?
Comments (5)I have white Zodiaq Bianco Carraro quartz and have had it since last September. Occasionally a ring of red wine has sat on my countertop overnight. I usually freak out in the morning when I see it, but thankfully I have not had any problems with marking. It still looks like new and I love it. It is on the island and I have Handstone on the perimeter. It has not etched at all either. I care for it but I don't 'baby' it. My neighbours have quarts as well (2 of them) and they both love it as much as I do. Good luck and I'm sure you will love your counters too....See MoreNew Caesarstone colors in US? Comments (12)We are going with Redlands King William. We changed our mind a few weeks back - we've had a lot of thinking time as it was too cold to start bricking. We are finally working on our kitchen and have seen a small sample of Bianco Drift (taps and tile on Lawrence ave west). They are not fabricators but did have quite a selection to view. We are thinking of using 2 separate choice (island and counter). Can't wait to see pictures when you are done :-)...See MoreAnyone have pic's of Caesarstone Jerusalem sand?
Comments (5)Thanks so much edlakin! Your kithcen is wonderful and the counters are beautiful!! That's so funny that you directed me to Sharb's kitchen because that is exactly where I too fell in love with this countertop! Actually, I fell in love the her entire kitchen and for a while, I was desperately trying to track down her backsplash (no luck!) We're in Wisconsin-she's in California and any new 'trends' seem to take forever to make it to the midwest-UGH! She has Jerusalem gold mini bricks, 5/8" by 5/16", (she was nice enough to answer my email!). The closest I've found in my area is 5/8" square of this stone that I am going to incorporate into a framed area over the range surrounding a Questech mural. We think this will be beautiful! After your post regarding the honed, I put my sample to the test and you are absolutely correct, my metal colander left a big mark...if we end up doing two different countertops, (DH is still skeptical about this-he can be a bit conservative...), I will definitely do the polished. With three young kids who are always doing some project or another, this just seems to make more sense for our family. Thanks again for your help and pic's!...See Moreiasfoster
