semi-professional pull down faucet

AND to outfit the perfect sink as visualized in my most recent post, I am looking for the ideal semi-professional pull down faucet. I have considered the Grohe K7 (26 1/2") and the Blanco Meridian 440557 and the Blanco Culina 441332 (22"). They seem to have good reviews. If all things are equal I would prefer a lower profile faucet. Any insights?

I bought the Blanco Culina 441332 a few months ago. The two main features that drew me to this model were the magnetic spray holder and the "closed loop" design that IMO looks sleeker and cleaner than the other open coil models.

I am big fan of Grohe faucets. We currently have a Grohe Ladylux and we'll either keep it or get another, different style, Grohe for our remodel. They have all the features you are looking for. eta: I just realized that the Ladylux is a pull"out" faucet. Not "down." However, Grohe does make a number of pulldown faucets. Concetto is one style. We have a Brizo Pascal (made by Delta) over the main sink. It includes touch control and IR control. It has two problems. (a) The spray head stream/spray mode is controlled by a button, and this button rarely works. That is, pushing it does not usually cause transition to spray mode. This degradation in function occurred within a few months of initial operation and the spray head needs replacement. (b) The control electronics loses track of what functional mode it is supposed to be operating in. In this state the the water flow will randomly turn off until the faucet is touched, or operate in the IR mode unexpectedly, etc. Correcting this condition (temporarily) requires pushing a button on the unit to induce a reset. This was noticed several weeks after installation. Several possible design flaws come to mind, but a design revision would be the generic fix. Otherwise the faucet works fine. I have concluded that product design funding went to style, and not substance, and the Brizo price premium does not buy a reliable electro-mechanical product. The three purely mechanical Brizo faucets that we also have still function well after approximately 2 years of use. kas

Hello! We sell both the side spray and pull down spray faucets, we find that more customers are going towards the pull down spray faucets for ease of use and cleaning but that is personal preference. The quality on side spray faucets has come along way and as long as you purchase a good quality well recognized brand you will be fine. My only suggestion would be that you stop into a plumbing showroom and feel the difference between the two options as some people find the pull down spray to be more ergonomic. If you are interested in single handle pull down spray faucets check out these lines as they are very beautiful! When installing a new faucet, you turn on the shutoff valves and run the faucet before attaching the head. This blows any crud out of the line before it hits and possibly ruins the filter in the head. Perhaps your installer did this, but just didn't get the head tightened enough, or forgot to pull the washer before flushing and lost it.

AND, do you love it? Is it capable of flexing enough to easily clean the corners of your sink? An old time vegetable spray will access either basin of a double sink with ease. Does the spray feature "lock on" so that you needn't apply continual pressure for the spray to function? Lovely kitchen!

I'm satisfied with the Blanco Culina so far. It has just enough flexibility to clean the corners of our 30" farmhouse sink. IMO, I don't think any of these coily faucets have as much flexibility as the traditional sprays, but, then again, our new sink is much larger. This spray does have a lock-on feature. And like I said, the magnetic feature comes in handy and is pretty strong, so you're able to lock it in the holder easily without having to do too much hunting.

Check-out youtube for some videos/demos. Better yet, find a dealer and play with each of these. I didn't know the Blanco Culina existed until I happened past it in a kitchen design store.

I have a Mirabelle Presidio. As mentioned, the reach is sufficient, but does not have the reach of a traditional pull-down style faucet. Also, it is taller (20+ inches IIRC), but I wanted something with presence:

And at around $400 retail, it was a nice affordable option.
