I may have found the one.
Comments (17)Muscovyduckling, She is quite thorny, but not horrifically. And not those dastardly hooked ones that Marcheal Neil has. I am amazed at the very dark green of the foliage. One reference said 20 feet and I have just the spot. Jackie, I don't mind the yellow. I only expect it to appear in our mild fall/winter. Looks like she will be very changeable which is what I hope for. Ingrid, good to hear that it may be a steamy noisette and to have the possible agreement of jaspermplants. Catspa, the flowers are small now. So it is good to hear that they may get larger. That was her only, very forgivable fault, in my eyes. Wonderful pic that shows her creamy nature. O Susan, that pic is perfect. Where did you find her on fort? This winter is the season I graft! I love this rose so much already, she may have moved to the top of my grafting experiment list. Yes, Jeri, it IS wonderful. Veronica...See MoreI think my husband may have killed my Tarocco
Comments (3)i would pull the tree out and check the roots for rot. if you see brown mushy roots, rinse all the soil off the roots. then sterilize a pair of scissors and trim off the rotten roots. sterilize the scissors afterwards so you don't spread it around. i've read you could dust with cinnamon, or use a diluted hydrogen peroxide spray or an anti fungal spray for root rot. no personal experience. if there is root rot, your soil is contaminated and should be thrown away. bleach/wash your barrel and let it sit in full sun for a few days. or throw it away and get a new pot. use a well draining medium. you could use Al's mix, or use a store bought mix, but add extra perlite to it....See MoreI may have found the perfect backsplash for me! Comments (24)oldbat2be - Thank you! My husband would have a small coronary if I said I wanted to change out the mosaic! haha Unfortunately I paid way too much for just that small square that I would see too many dollar signs in the trash if I did that.. Might have to let a few years pass before I could attempt that. ;) A full reveal thread seems intimidating! I will try to tackle that now over the Christmas break. You're welcome, juddgirl2!...See MoreMay have found my backsplash!
Comments (30)fishymom, I have a busy granite and chose a mosaic backsplash to go with it ... big mistake!! The colors were a good match (like yours are), but the two busy materials just didn't go well together. They looked fine in my head, but awful in reality! We covered the countertops with brown paper before installing the splash, so imagine my surprise when we removed the paper and I was confronted with that disastrous reality. I got up early the next morning and ripped out the entire splash myself. Unfortunately, I didn't start frequenting GW until my remodel was nearly completed, or I might have been able to benefit from all of the people here who will be brutally honest in their opinions. If you do choose to go ahead with the mosaics, make sure you are there when it is being installed so that you can veto it if you realize that it's too much. What looks fine when you are just looking at a sample will often look much different when it is all around the kitchen.
