I never got around to finishing my curtains so my kitchen isn't in the FKB. I should do something about that though as that blog helped me enormously. Below are a few pics of our Kennebec QS oak inset kitchen cabinets.

Red_lover, yes it's soapstone. I have a love/hate relationship with it because it has such a lived in look nevertheless it's still the only counter that makes sense for our kitchen. Our house is about 100 yrs old and very traditionally furnished, so the kitchen fits in pretty well.

We were all set to do the "classic white kitchen" but it took so long to get out layout finalized (really, over a year) that by the time we were ready to order our cabinets, I couldn't look at another white kitchen. I fell in love with Kennebec's QS white oak so we did that instead. Still love white kitchens, though.

Nycbluedevil, the triple panel is the freezer. The pantry is to the left where the back stairs used to be. We left the stair there in case the next owner wants to re-open them (we used them all of the time when the children were little) but it's our pantry now. The other glass door is to the basement.

And yes, we love the combi. In fact, we just did the cooking class at Miele in Princeton "Full Steam Ahead" because we're thinking of one for the beach. Well worth doing it if you're in the area. We learned some new tricks.
