Okak, Thanks. My cabinets were custom built and the quality turned out to be fantastic. I don't know where you live, but I am in Florida and used Roger Romero (Roger's Cabinets). His phone number is (954) 584-9876. He is truly a master craftsman who takes pride in his work and customer service. It took him 12 weeks to build it all by hand and custom stain it, layering on coat by coat until we found just the right one for us. His price was not more than any other kitchen place who orders cabinets from manufacturers like Thomasville, etc. I wish other Floridians come across this post and give him a call. hlove, your kitchen is wonderful! I love the vintagey look and the colors you've chosen. I love those pyrex bowls, and am looking forward to some open shelving in our remodel, to put out ours, along with the jadeite I've got tucked here and there. The laminate looks great, and I like it with that edge. Did you have a special width done or is that standard? Angie DIY, I love those countertops, and am really going back and forth between a darker laminate, like this one, but basalt slate is the one I'd chosen, and a lighter one, like hlove's, but a bit more gray (formica has a lighter soapstone color I like a lot). I love the dark with the wood, but am not sure if it'll suck up too much light in my small dark kitchen. Thanks for the pictures, all this is helping my decision making.

it's funny but I don't remember the exact name..I do remember the company I think it was this http://www.quartzforms.com/en/products/620 (and it looks different IRL..it looks lighter and sort of off white..green based off white maybe just in my kitchen? I was much more concerned to make it work with backsplash, cabinets etc..Truffle sink was much easier to work with)
