Need to fill space above fridge
Comments (14)Considering how much you've put into the kitchen already (much of it sweat equity, but I'm talking materials here), I think it wouldn't be that much more to put a cabinet in to match the others - call the place where you bought the others. They make them in standard sizes for standard fridges, I don't know how deep your niche is but I'd go just to the edge, since it looks like one side is deeper than the other, and trim out the whole thing with the trim you used around the windows and doors. I *love* the curved "rosettes" - very Art Deco looking! That way your fridge would look built in, in a unique way instead of the "trim out with matching side panels" like I have in my kitchen. Can you bump out the wall on the left side of the fridge to even up the niche depth? If you can't afford the cabinets for now, you could just trim out the opening (either on the left and over the top, deadend into the wall, or wrap around the right too and run the trim up that edge on the right of the fridge). I just want to see that sharp drywall edge over the fridge softened like your other beautiful casings!...See MoreHELP! Need ideas for 6 inch space along side fridge
Comments (2)Broom closet? Message Center? Buy components to hang on the refrigerator end panel or build a shallow wall (turn 2x4s sideways) to hang them on...things like a dry erase board, bulletin board, key rack, mail sorter, magazine rack (for directories), phone, etc. You could make your own of whatever you want...get some finished end panels and create a "box"... Comments (10)I wonder if you might be happier if you had trim around the doors and molding along the top? That might give it a more finished look. It’s hard to think of putting anything up there not knowing your decor style....See MoreAbove Fridge Storage Ideas
Comments (8)If you can store your mattress(?) elsewhere, and move the fridge a few inches to the right (but make sure the door will still open far enough to remove crispers for cleaning), you can add a shallow side-loading cabinet to the other side. Perfectly convenient for storing china, or use as a pantry. Then add a cabinet above the fridge for larger pieces or extra storage space, and a narrow pullout to the right. Might not be as inexpensive as you'd hoped, but it would be efficient and attractive. DIY for narrow pantry pull-out....See MoreMayo510
