grohe vs. hansgrohe
Comments (15)I had a Grohe kitchen faucet in my last house. It seemed such an extravagance at the time. However, after replacing a few faucets due to two big strong sons and a big strong husband slamming them on/off and breaking them or having something on the inside bottom rust out and cause slow leaks into cabinet the Grohe was money well spent. I should have just bought the Grohe to start with and saved money on junk. I bought a Hansgrohe bathroom facet from Costco for my sonâÂÂs new-ish place and it has stood up well to the abuse. The only negative is that his one piece leverâÂÂs red & blue hot cold dots markers are mostly warn off. Not big deals unless he plans on selling as the home inspectors around here write you up for that. I just bought Hansgrohe facets for my master bath remodel so havenâÂÂt used them yet. I bought Delta for the guest bath. The Hansgrohe are at least twice as heavy as the Delta....See MoreOrca sink w/ Grohe Bridgeford vs. Brizo or Newport Brass faucet
Comments (7)OK, I called a plumbing showroom that has Grohe and they went and checked, and ALL sprayheads are plastic. I called Delta Brizo and they checked and said the inside of the sprayhead is plastic but it is wrapped in metal, so the part you see and touch is metal, not plastic on their sprayhead. They said it is to keep the weight down. I then called Newport Brass Tech support who told me the sprayhead on the 94P is solid brass with a chrome finish or other finish depending on what you order, and the only plastic on the sprayhead is the face where the water comes out. Although I like the less "bulky" look of the Newport Brass and it is supposed to be a very good solid brass brand of faucets, it has the worst warantee it seems on its finishes, and excludes hard water damage, which I have. It is the only solid metal spray head. I guess between the Grohe and the Brizo, depends on where you want your plastic, inside or outside. I suspect, but don't know, that Grohe probably has the best warantee and customer support. I am also concerned about the reach so that it is easy to use, but also which might cause less splashing. I would think a longer reach would be better on the back, but with the drain at the back, a shorter reach would more likely place the spout directly over the drain and maybe decrease splashing. That is why I am interested in anyone who has any of these, but it would be especially helpful if anyone has this sink with one one these particular faucets. Sue...See MoreGrohe vs. Kohler faucets?
Comments (7)I have the Kohler Fairfax pull out faucet on my prep sink and it's great! It pulls out & reseats itself smoothly, it does have the rubber knob, but it works very well. It pulls out far enough to reach a stock pot on the counter for filling AND for the 5-gallon bucket for the fish tank! I have no regrets and would put it in again if I had it to do over! [I also have the Kohler Vinnata on my main sink...but it's a pull down as opposed to a pull out faucet. I really like that one as well....I like that I can twist the head slightly to redirect the stream while it's still seated. I also like twisting the whole faucet so it's over a measuring cup or stock pot on the counter for measuring or filling and, like the Fairfax, the pull down action is very smooth and the faucet head is easily reseated.] HTH!...See MoreGrohe Bridgeford pullout vs Perrin-Rowe Country faucet decision
Comments (7)thanks for responses... I've only used faucets with a side sprayer, so I am rather used to it. Having said that, I always believe in function over form if it came down to it... so perhaps it's time for me to try the pull-outs. My one reservation about the Grohe lies in worrying that the pullout may become loose over time and not stay in its "home". That some of you have used it and find it maintains its quality and functionality is good to hear. I do also suspect that more people own Grohes since it's more affordable compared to the Perrin&Rowe. For me, I have found a P&R for only $400 more than the Grohe and don't feel like it's all that much of a difference when you consider the grand kitchen reno budget. Jillsee... your kitchen layout is so similar to my last kitchen... minus the counter w/ appliances and the wine counter!...See Morededtired
