My faucet looks very similar to the one in your guest bath, but the spout angles down. How tall is the faucet in the first 2 photos? My sink is very similar too but it's wall mounted and has a much smaller rim. I love your style!

Julie, thanks for posting the pictures and pointing me to Cifial! I agree with sweeby that the first one you showed isn't the right style for us, but the second one (the Techno M3 lav faucet) could certainly work for us. It's unfortunately difficult to judge the color and finish on a computer monitor - I'm taking your word that they're brown and not black! ;) My wife and I have a day of shopping planned for tomorrow, and I hope one of the showrooms we're planning to go to (they're on the Cifial dealer list) will have something in that finish so we can decide if we like it. I do still get sweeby's point that sleek, modern design doesn't fit too well with an oil rubbed bronze that's supposed to convey age, but an even non-weathered finish (even though Cifial calls it "weathered") seems like it could do the trick. But I need to see one to see how it hits me. Aside from finish/color, how are Cifial products quality-wise? We were looking at a Hansgrohe shower head and a Grohe faucet for both their style and quality, but I don't know anything about Cifial other than recognizing the name. And while I like how that Techno M3 line's look is carried through the tub spout and shower controls, they don't have much to choose from the in the way of shower heads -- the Techno M3 seems to offer only a single-function rain head, and we were thinking we wanted a multifunction head (the Hansgrohe Raindance 150 Air is an example of one we liked). Can you mix in someone else's shower head if you get Cifial for everything else? I would think that would look bad, unless I could find something in a pretty similar brown color and style, which seems unlikely. Or would you get the Cifial lav faucet but switch to a different brand/color/finish/style for the shower/tub fixtures? (The sink and tub are on opposite walls, so you won't see them side-by-side.) I would think we'd want the same line or at least similar looks for all the fixtures -- is that wrong? Thanks for all the design help! -- Eric

We went with the Delta Orleans line. We picked them out at the plumbing supply place with the contractor, but then I went online and found them cheaper. (Used Faucet Depot.) We got them in brushed nickel, but the chrome versions would be even cheaper. (Note that you do have to buy the handles separately.) In the guest bath they went with fixtures from Home Depot or Lowes. I do feel the difference between the two as the delta set is metal and then guest bath set is probably not. The guest set is by Moen - either the Banberry or Brantford. For all of them, we wanted one with a higher arc. They went with cultured marble tops with the integrated sinks. They did them at the current house over 15 years ago and aside from an accident with a candle, they look about the same as when they were installed. This was in the bathroom that my sister and I shared. We each had our own vanity and each morning we would sit on the vanity, with our feet in the sink, to apply our makeup. So, they survived lots of makeup spills, curling irons, etc. with no problems. We didn't have pure white, but it is white with grey streaks. This was dirty and the plastic was still on the counter and a cell phone shot that does horrible things to the way the cabinets look, but this is there guest bath vanity. I don't have a good picture of the master vanity, but here is a similar horrible shot showing one sink. Like the above poster, they haven't been in the new house long enough to say how they will withstand the test of time, but so far they feel very solid and we are very pleased. In chrome, the Delta Orleans is around $100 from Faucet Depot. This is the smaller centerset one. The wide set ones are going to be more, no matter which brand you go with.

Hi summery. Well, six years of daily use and no drips or malfunctions of any kind suggest that it will last. (I hope.) So far, so good. My small kitchen is gently contemporary and it's positioned in the middle of open-concept LR, DR, and FR. The ceilings are 14 feet and the south side of the house is basically all windows. The walls are full of eclectic art. The Karbon seems to fit in comfortably with our well-worn mostly contemporary furniture and textiles, a few antiques, tons of plants, and many musical instruments. I can see the Karbon from every room on this level except the bathroom. :) I'd show you a pic but my DH has asked us not to post photos.
