It doesn't bother me at all that my neighbor cuts his Christmas trees down to sell to people in our area. It helps our local economy, the trees help the environment while they are here, and more trees are immediately replanted the following March. It's amazing to me how they grow. He doesn't water them when he plants them. He digs the hole, practically tosses the seedling in the ground, covers it up, stomps the ground down with his foot, walks away from them, and that's it. The trees are never watered at any time while in his care, not even through last summer's drought. A well-known, on television everyday, celebrity ordered hundreds of his trees several years ago because she wanted them planted on her property. We're so out in the middle of nowhere, and the neighbor doesn't advertise so I have no idea how her "people" found him...

Speaking of which, and is totally OT - have you seen the Adam Carolla project on TV? I just saw for the first time this week and thought it was a riot. Those guys haven't made it past junior high for sure. The good news is they are generrally harmless and fun junior high, not petty and pretenious junior high. They remind me of several people I know and love. Now, back on topic, when they dump stuff in your yard, have you considered calling and offering, very kindly and wide eyed, ''Oh, did you need the name of a junk or brush removal company to take away your xzy? I'm afraid our lot isn't zoned for dumping. So sorry.'' Maybe you or your dh would have to call her dh at his work. And leave a message with the receptionist. Might be the only way to keep a straight face. I'm enjoying this way too much. Hope it isn't adding to your misery. Hmmm...did Stephen King write any books about neighbors?

I am still trying to figure out why Pawprint's insurance company did not handle the matter (estimate of damage, repairs etc.). How does that work? In California your insurance company is your advocate. I use Esurance. In every instance, however minor, we have been assigned a representative who stays with us from being to end. Excellent online communication and excellent updates. The last time I had to use them was in the middle of the night. By that morning I had an appointment to take my car in for an estimate. Their local recommended repair service was top notch about communication. Not only with daily updates and info on anything new they found but also pictures of the work in progress. I was given a detailed list of all parts (including part numbers) used, their cost and a written warranty on the work. My online "agent" was in constant communication also wanting to know if I encountered any problems, had any further questions etc. I did have one problem with a rep who wasn't good at "vehicle speak". That was when she was being lied to by the other driver's insurance. But she handed me up the ladder so it was finally resolved. (see earlier post)

@ravencajun, those aren't chips. Those are sparkly, white crystal bits in the counter top that are showing up kinda weird in the pictures. It's Ceasarstone Nougat. @mollymcbaby, yes someone else suggested a pop-up drain and that would solve a big part of the function problem and being able to grasp the trap pull. Those of you who said it started with the sink, yep. I agree. Looks to me like he centered the sink to the slab - have no idea what the logic was behind where he chose to drill the hole for the faucet! To answer questions about the sink flange, there is just a small width lip so the flange didn't have to dictate where the faucet hole was drilled. @d_gw good idea about the faucet spec's and warranty issues. I will have to check in to that. @olychick I didn't even know fixtures like those existed, lol! Unfortunately, I already bought the faucets. There are a total of 3 that have been opened and installed. So, I own 'em and am not excited about having to replace them. @pal yeah I know the mirror frame is kind of lame. But this is a condo that we're living in with plans to rent eventually and my plan was to help the budget by salvaging the huge mirrors. The edges are worn and the silver is jacked up; covering that up with a frame seemed like it would be a reasonable solution. (not any more) @Fori the plumbing is done and it works. Where the stream of water hits the sink is actually "comfortable" so that is one positive. I hate it when the stream of water is so close to the back of the sink you can't get your hands in there and under the water without touching the sink! Nothing in contract about my approving placement of anything. Silly me I figured there were standard spec's about how far the sink should sit back from the edge, distance between sink and faucet, faucet and wall, water to drain ratio (or whatever it's called) but nooooo. I'm learning there are no standards. Shocked how many people chimed in (I posted on my FB page as well) to say they too have faucets too close to the wall and consider it a design flaw that could have easily been avoided if someone would have just communicated and asked about layout/placement. I never in a million thought I'd have to tell master craftsmen who do nothing but install counter tops all day, every day where to cut holes. Apparently, if you don't specify, they don't ask and cut them willy nilly, no rhyme or reason. #gobsmacked
