Quartzite for shower floor?
Comments (13)Oh, clg7067 that is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Can you also share the exact name and manufacturer/distributor of the tile? So far I've looked at Emser's Silver Gray Honed Slate and Arizona Tile's Ostrich Gray Honed Quartzite. I'm not certain of the differences between the two although the samples have certainly been different. I assume that's more due to the nature of natural stone rather than the specific manufacturer. I look forward to seeing a finished picture if you have the time. Arizona Tile's website says their honed gray slate is appropriate for showers and other wet locations. Yillimuh recently posted a beautiful honed gray slate bathroom (including shower)....See MoreLeathered/Brushed Quartzite Countertop
Comments (28)The addition and first floor "redo" is moving along. We started 25 August and hope to be finished mid January. The leathered green /with white vein marbe was just installed. It is beautiful but concerned as there is a major crack in it. Waiting for the fabricator to return my call. The minor cracks are not noticeable with the leather but this one concerns me. It is beautiful with the white Plain and Fancy cabinets but that is another issue as so many of them arrived damaged or not proper size! Vanity for powder room sink arrived with not place for the sink and the drawers and doors did not line up. Outside construction went perfectly while cabinets are a disaster....See MoreSeal leathered quartzite counters?
Comments (9)Hi everyone, thought I’d share an update in case anyone is interested. I did a water test and 30 mins later nothing appeared to have absorbed. I wiped it away and there was a slightly damp/dark spot that disappeared quickly. The stone looks beautiful and natural, like a muted soap stone, so I’m glad I didn’t have it sealed. Very happy with it. Pics from install and water test 30 mins apart. Thanks again for your suggestions....See MoreCalacatta Palazzo. Marble, Quartz or Quartzite?
Comments (3)This is a counter in your house ? Pictures are not a good way to figure out what stone or quartz you have you could try looking up under the cabinets to see if you can see the underside of the counter that might help to at least know if it is real stone or quartz. Are you trying to match it for something else ?...See Moresochi
