Lagos Blue 4350 Caesarstone
Comments (5)My daughter has the "shiny" lagos blue and it is more of a taupe color. I don't see any blue. It is beautiful but she found it does chip if you drop something on it and the chip shows white. She fixed by dabbing olive oil on it and so far it is holding up. You also might want to look at your slab before they template it. There is something called resin pooling that might bother you if placed in a very conspicuous spot....See MoreCaesarstone Amazon Green anyone?
Comments (8)We went to the kitchen showroom yesterday, but no table in Amazon Green was in sight! But at least they had the bigger 10" square samples that do give a much better idea of overall effect than the 3" samples. The Amazon Green is a very mossy green, with the overall effect being more brown than green. Very different than it looks on the website sample. It is quite nice, but we didn't love it nearly as much as we did when we saw the smaller sample. Instead both dh and I fell in love with the Lagos Blue, which is incredibly calming and beautiful. Also, it does have a bit of a greenish cast to it (I think the overall effect is taupe). And the Lagos Blue was definitely the winner when we held it up with our tile. They looked fantastic next to each other, which is a big coup since we are trying to keep our older floor tile for budget savings. By the way, the Rosemary is also quite beautiful, and that would have been our next choice (before the Amazon Green I think). It has the same soothing feel as the Lagos Blue. The Caesarstone site does allow you to order samples by selecting a color and adding a sample to your shopping cart. I tried to order the Amazon Green and Lagos Blue more than a week ago, and they have yet to process the order (I did hear back from them that they had a problem processing it)....See MoreCaesarstone, Zodiaq, Cambria, Silestone?
Comments (17)All these comments are exceedingly helpful, and I am going to copy and paste all of them into a Word document to save this entire thread. I would never have known to check the warranties for the pooling policies, for example. In fact, didn't even know about pooling until yesterday. It was amazing to read from emilynewhome in SW LA that she used Lowes and that a fabricator from TX was used. I live in TX and was about to think I was at the end of the earth in my small Central TX town in terms of finding anyone to fabricate. But I might just go talk to the people from Lowes and see what they say. I do like Zodiaq a lot and had found some samples I liked. That is fascinating, too, about Cambria being made in the US. I have found a dealer in a nearby town who handles Cambria; that is appealing to me, as well as to Sara the Brit! Now to go check out Cambria's colors. And I can hardly wait to see emilynewhome's pictures, when she gets hers installed!...See MoreIs Caesarstone the Pits?
Comments (52)Well, Caesarstone says you can't put hot things on their product. Read the warranty. It can be damaged by thermal shock, and, being a resined product, it can scorch. But it'd probably take more than just putting a hot dish down briefly. For more information, here is a recent discussion about putting hot things on granite. Granite too has been known to crack from thermal shock. Here is a link that might be useful: recent thread...See Moremahatmacat1
