Comments (1)The color and finish looks lovely together. I've added in a third tile in crocodile skin chocolate brown :) I wish I could share pics, but the counters aren't in yet....See MoreBM Paint Color and Creme Marfil - I've tried 5 times.
Comments (18)I have Creme Marfil marble tiles in three different bathrooms. I have used Benjamin Moore colors for each bathroom - French White, Bar Harbour Beige and Manchester Tan. Each bathroom has different lighting (rooms facing different directions, sky lights and florescent lights, etc) so it takes some time to choose the right one. Also, I have found that each color ties in differently depending on the backsplash which is different for each room. I have found myself gravitating towards the slightly warm beiges as well. Any interesting combination is Plaster of Paris with this marble and Creme Marfil Eternal (Silestone used for counter tops and bath and shower walls. You would think Creme Marfil is an easy color to match but it really isn't. The challenge for me was trying to find the right color with enough contrast without going too dark. I have tried to keep the bathroom walls as light as possible. Just one other thought - if you do find a color that is too dark (ie Bar Harbour Beige), you can always have the paint store "lighten" the intensity of the color. I experimented with this option and it does give you other options. Good luck as this process can drive you crazy!...See MoreLeathered versus honed marble countertops.

Comments (5)I did a brick wall in my kitchen, but left it as is, I did not paint it. My brick is unsealed, I have no issues with cleaning it at all. HOWEVER you are specifically asking about painting it. In my opinion, I don't think I would do that. Although I always envisioned that some 10-15 years down the road if I get bored with my kitchen I could change it up with painting the brick, walls, cabinets, as people do. But I envisioned maybe doing a whitewash kinda thing, I think it's called limewash?? Or somehow giving it that crumbly/whiteish look. Thin brick veneer comes in many different colors, not just the classic red brick. I'd look into that first, as opposed to painting it. Painting it - I think - will make it look a bit more one dimensional. The look of the brick with its "mortar" (grout) is what makes it look interesting, textural, and authentic. Is it just the texture you are after?? If so brick gives you that, if it's just a matter of color matching your countertops, then you can install beadboard and paint that. Or just leave the walls as is and paint that. Paint is so scrubbable these days, and who cares if you'd have to touch up the paint in two years! But then I would do ANYTHING besides tile, but that's just me....See More- 13 years ago
