dark upper cabs light base cabs; show me your pics
Comments (3)I am guessing that having the lowers light is a function of wanting to disguise the undesired oak on the lowers, not that you desire the look of lighter lowers. If that's correct, recently someone posted about having gel-stained cabinets to disguise an unattractive grain. I've included one link below. There is a picture of the finished cabinets in an espresso color, and they look beautiful. If that appeals to you, you could then do your lighter cream and glaze for your new uppers. Hope this helps. Comments (2)Hi, Mine are Conestoga RTA cabinets that I assembled and finished (my kitchen was DIY except electric and plumbing rough-ins) I chose inset for the uppers, and full-overlay for the bases. I wanted a paneled DW and felt that I could get a better result that way. Also, I used different door styles for each.(Conestoga lets you create a custom door style by specifying any type of detail). I am happy with how it turned out. The link is the photobucket with all the process documented. Comments (8)Hi, boysrus2. I thought it might be helpful for you to see some pics of my cabinet run in our new family room. They are framed partial overlay. I wanted frameless full overlay (long story; cabinet maker troubles.) There is almost no gap between cabinet doors: There is a 3/8 gap between drawers and doors. I personally don't like this gap but it is consistent across the cabinet run. Comments (19)I'm in New England, herbflavor. Though at the moment I could certainly use a visit to any place named "Lucknow." I (mostly) picked my appliances long ago. So I can't remember why I picked this one! Reviews are pretty OK. Some folks complain about the doors not closing easily, but others say they've successfully fixed that. Hilariously, multiple people say the install instructions are wrong and you need a slightly bigger clearance than specified, but no one will tell you what that clearance is. So helpful. In any case, I certainly can't remember the differences between the three integrated models. I'll have to ask again--the website doesn't make it clear. What's the diff between "panel ready" and "custom panel required?"How can the same fridge accept either a thin sheet of stainless or a 5/8" to 3/4" thick cabinet door panel? pal, I may in fact need to fudge the sides and back--should be close enough. The transitions could be tough, though....See Morecat_mom
