Liebherr 36 info yet??
Comments (56)I have had the Liebherr 36'since the end of Sept. It is a free standing model that was integrated in a European kitchen. I had two issues right off the bat. There was a magnet missing which was preventing the freeze from knowing if the drawers were shut. This would not let the ice maker work, or the freezer light come on. I called Liebherr and was walked thru my issues they sent me the magnet which just snaped in. All the functions of the freezer worked, including the Ice maker. It now is awesome. The door issue is becoming annoying. Thats why they need the open alarm. This refer. is Environmently friendly Very Green. From the factory they are made in, to the LED lighting. I would be interested in finding out how Liebherr solves the door issue. Phil...See MoreExtra 15'' undercab integrated fridge, or 42'' fridge instead?
Comments (9)I feel strongly in favor of the 24 inch wide fridge drawers for usable space. I would find 15 inches not worth the trouble. And shelves v. drawers? No contest. Drawers are so easy. I am too old to get on my knees to look at the bottom 2 drawers. It's only 9 inches different. I have Elux drawers-pricey at 2k but a big splurge and very, very worth it. Also, there is no worry about door clearance. Now, where do you find the 9 inches? I don't remember your plan, but, what width are your pantry pullouts? I have 2 pullouts, each 15 inches wide. My pullouts replaced a 36 x 24 black hole pantry. I have way more groceries now, then before. Each pantry door of mine can pull 450 pounds. If your pantries are wider, they may not be able to pull all the stuff. Marcolo, I know you are a two person household, and I bet dollars to donuts that I have more pantry crap than you. We are now a 2 person family but I have not yet come to terms with the fact that my 'teenage' son is now 51 yrs. old and I don't have to feed him daily. My dh and I are very frugal and we buy way too much stuff, b/c it's on sale. Just today, I tossed 3 cans of tomato stuff that was 2 yrs. out of date. I buy groceries for planned but still imagined dinner parties, probably never to happen (deteriorating health)! You have real dinner parties so you use up the food. Check your drawings and tell me the width of pantries. And that's just one place to look for space....See MoreLiebherr 36' icemaker problems
Comments (30)How to fix the ice maker. First you will need to remove the thing. Take all the bins and shelves out. Lie on your back and look up at the ice maker. You will see two clips that hold it in place. Press them in with two butter knives on each side and when you have them pressed in have another person pull out the ice maker. Check to see if your bin is broken (like mine). Call Liebherr and get the repair kit (about 99 bucks). Take a small screwdriver and remove the front nameplate (it clips in). Remove the screw. There is another screw on the side. Replace the parts needed. Here is where it gets interesting... Reinstall and turn off the ice maker by holding down the power button for about 2 seconds. Then press the power button for 5-8 seconds (but no more than 10) and the ice maker will do a "test run". Then press the power button again and after 2 seconds it will start flashing. Count how many times it flashes. It will be between 1-8 total. This is the water "fill time". The more flashes the more water it pumps into the tray during the fill. What breaks these trays is that they are overfilled with too much water and then they crack. When it stops flashing push the bin back in and pull it back out. It will increment one level (5 to a 6) and flash again. Reset it back to a 1 (three is default). Check tomorrow and if the ice is WAY too small - start again and bump it up a level. Water pressure might be overfilling your tray and causing the damage and now you know how to "hack" it back to normal operation. Personally we keep it on a 1 and just live with the smaller cubes. Also make sure your water is SOFT. If it is too hard the minerals will build up on the tray and cause the ice to not release. I miss the days with my Jenn-Air when I could order the ENTIRE ice maker for $35 and swap it out with one hand and no tools! Hope this helps!...See MoreLiebherr Refrigerator
Comments (104)The thing is, their website clearly documents that the doors should close automatically, so if they were to say just live with it, why not just take them to small claims court and sue them? It seems so cut and dry that I'm very tempted to do this by the Fall if no fix is made available. Unlike most people who bought this refrigerator, I actually did buy it almost solely because of the automatic closing doors. Stupid me. :) Of course I'm going to ask them for a refund first, but this is just ridiculous. It's great that they're trying for a fix, but even when I spoke to them back in October they swore they had a fix for the problem. And every month after that they swore that a fix was right around the corner. I'll be the first one to congratulate them if this so-called fix works, but I'm also going to be one of the first to take them to court to get this resolved one way or the other if it does not....See MoreSparklingWater
