has any one used 2 different stained woods in kitchen?

I am trying to decide on kitchen cabinets. I am seriously thinking of Supreme cabinets in quartersawn oak in a simple mission style. I like unfitted kitchens so I am thinking of doing dark brown stain with a soapstone counter on the bottom cabinets, a lighter brown stain on some floor to ceiling pantry units against the far wall and around the fridge, and a few painted white open shelving units on top.

However, the quartersawn oak stains available with Dura Supreme are either too dark for my taste or too light. So I am considering using the Lyptus for the bottom cabinets. There are no lighter stains for Lyptus so the floor to ceiling cabinets would still be a med/light brown quartersawn oak. (Painted uppers would be maple.)

Do you think this is a crazy idea? Or would it add to the unfitted nature of the kitchen and be fine? Has anyone else done this?
