Hi! You made my day...it's always fun to think I did something that still serves as anyone's inspiration! I've always been someone who actually prefers asymmetry, as long as it's ''balanced''. You can surely get away with more like that, and I don't have to bend my mind so far or stress about trying make things fit.

What makes this work is I planned for the sink drains to go in the corner towards the back. (The people who made my sink(s) for me are true craftsmen, and all the sinks drain perfectly.) The hose on the faucet stretches for what I need when cleaning the sink, and it's worked out well. I find with this arrangement I can keep a ''wet'' side to the sink, and a ''dry'' side on the other which is sometimes really helpful. I think it's a clean look, and I like not having a cluster of clutter behind the sink, and in front of the window. It works really well...don't be afraid!

I did want to add that even if you drain hole is in the center of your sink, I think this can work well for you. The only thing is, you might have to be more diligent cleaning the sink if you have hard water (deposits) because it will have to drain towards the hole instead of into it. No big deal! You'll also love the faucet I think; there's plenty of clearance, and with the faucet to the side (if your sink is large) it's easier to share space at the sink.

I was a bit concerned about the drain hole issue - also whether it would look weird to have the faucet stream not falling right down into it (what is considered to be the proper placement for that, anyways?).

My remaining question is: how far away from the main faucet body did you mount the handle? With the faucet on the far left of the sink, I'm concerned that I'll be reaching up under the water stream to turn it on and off if I put it too close, but it might look goofy if I put it too far away?

Otherwise I have a water filter and a GD air switch, both of which can go to the right and are not very obtrusive.

Thank you thank you! And your kitchen is gorgeous. I don't have a copper sink, but do have copper counters, which are precious enough that I'm really agonizing before cutting any fixture holes.

The faucet/handle/soap dispenser all have 2 inches between them (the base of the fixture). You know, I don't really know about using the faucet handle because I have a Tapmaster. (I don't actually use the handle much because of it!) If you have an opportunity to add one in the future, you would probably Love It. It among one of the best things about my kitchen!

As far as the ''proper'' placement of the water stream, I think it's ''typical'' for the water to go straight into the drain hole. It seems to me there are plenty of people who use/put things outside the ''normal box'', so just do what works for you. What is your sink material?

As far as I know the city water here is relatively soft, so am hoping there won't be issues with residue. We have the sink really nicely shimmed to drain very fast, so that should be OK. I had my plumber in last night to consult, and he's fine with putting the faucet wherever I choose (ack! the freedom!), so I'm mocking up variations on the corner placement to see which is best.

Circuspeanut, I like the off-center faucet, and how it lines up with frame instead of window. My granite guys put the holes on 4" (or multiples of that) centers. If you are going to use the handle for the Aberdeen it is better to have more distance. Maybe put the air switch in between or just do 5 or 6 inches so the swing of the handle won't be limited by the faucet (mine is/was, but the plumber twisted the apparatus so that hot is way out over the counter top, and it works just fine -- especially with the Tap Master!) You can mock up your faucet placement with a cardboard box, and actually screw them down to it like a counter top. I agree: Don't cut until you are sure!

Claire de luna was one of my inspirations also, and was very helpful when it came time to choose the faucet. I love this forum.
