Should I get matching granite backsplash if my walls are tiled?
Comments (4)I think if the walls are tiled, you shouldn't have an additional backsplash, but it's really a matter of personal preference. The only thing is that eventually -- and when I say eventually, I mean, we're talking YEARS -- you will have to re-caulk that joint where the back of the countertop meets the wall tile. This is simply to ensure that water doesn't start seeping into that joint when the caulk eventually dries out. But that little, teeny, tiny, miniscule maintenance issue is not, in my opinion, a reason to sway you one way or the other. I personally didn't want the extra backsplash, and I blissfully enjoyed my vanity configuration for 4 years (until I moved!) without once needing to perform any maintenance work on that joint....See MoreShould I get my contractor to tile the backsplash over the range?
Comments (2)Ask thre tile house you bought the tile from for a referral. They will have lots of contractors that will do any size job. If not try a post on Craigslist....See MoreGranite Backsplash with Tile BS or just Tile Backsplash???
Comments (6)My granite supplier advised using tile from the granite up (no granite back splash). She could have advised the other way and made a little more money, so I think she advised based on her honest opinion. I also like the "no granite back splash" look better. Just guessing, I'd say the only reason to use the 4" granite back splash would be if you weren't going to use any other back splash at all (a more low-budget option, in my opinion)....See Morewhat color should i paint my backsplash tile?
