How to make grout disappear w/multi-colored tile?
Comments (3)Thanks! I will run the idea of the aqua-mix by my tiler. If I use the pewter color, for example, for both the already grouted (in bone-color that I want to change)and the newly grouted, will the grout colors match? Bill--I think you misunderstood my problem. Yes, the field and the accent tiles are two different colors, and I am now thinking I will use two different grout colors. But my problem is that the accent tile itself is comprised of about 5 different shades of green. So, I was wondering if it is better to go with the darker shade of green or the lighter shade of green for the accent grout color? Based on the color chart mongoct sent, I think I will try the pewter or natural gray. Is it reasonable to ask the tiler to do a sample on some spare meshed tile pieces? Thanks!...See MoreBlack n White Photo w/one or two colored objects
Comments (16)Hi all....there are lots of ways....my way...quick and easy. Make color corrections etc. on your inage, then.... Duplicate the Background layer. On Copy of Background Hue/Saturation/Lightness...click Reset > enable Colorize > OK OR.... Channel Mixer: Enable Monochrome Settings > Red/Green/Blue 33 > Contrast 3% If you want it lighter Settings > Red 87 > Green Minus 12 > Blue 61 > Contrast Minus 3% Stay on top layer... To show background color: *Erase: use left mouse button to erase and right button to make corrections (un-erase). Settings > brush size will vary > Hardness 50 or less > Step 5 > Density/Thickness/Opacity 100 *If you have straight lines to erase... hold down Shift key move the mouse and click again...if you have curves, click hold down shift key keep moving and clicking. If you need to UNDO, you will be able to undo small amounts at a time instead of losing a major amount of work. Merge/Save Joy...See MoreLooking for pictures of mantel wood hoods in two colors
Comments (2)My kitchen will be two tone and so I will share a pic of a portion of the hood as it is wrapped. I spent hours looking for mantel hood ideas so even if mine is not not exactly what you are looking for, even one small detail can be an inspiration. My hood is all cherry. The hood has small Enkebol mouldings on both ends which you can see part of one. In the center is a large 24" Enkebol flower moulding. It curves up to the ceiling and is trimmed with Enkebol mouldings. There will be corbels under each side. Good luck. Comments (11)For some reason several notifications popped up today that I never knew were on this thread or a couple others. I thought it may be helpful to some who may read through this (and reassuring to those who were concerned) to see in first two photos the watertight way the shower was structured, then in last two photos are the colors of grout/what I ended up doing (per my original purpose of posting this question on Houzz) : ^^^This red/pink stuff is the waterproof material that was put all over the shower/in niche/etc before the tile went on. And as I had mentioned in prior comments, a large curb was always the plan as you will see in this almost-finished photo :) *Note: The unfinished window is a reflection and not actually in the shower Finally, for those who looked at this thread in search for answers to their own questions about grout colors, I went with Tec Dove Gray Sanded Powergrout on the floor and niche (wherever the hex was), and Tec Silverado Unsanded regular grout on the walls with Powerboost added (to make the unhanded grout a form of Powergrout) on the walls...choosing the lighter gray to soften the bright white so that it would work better with the warm white vanity. The Powergrout has posed no issues whatsoever in the last month since the shower has been used. We did seal the floors/walls for additional mold/mildew/stain resistance. This is a good representation of what the colors of tile and grout look like in reality...the Dove Gray appears a bit softer in person though....See Moreigloochic
