You can get the chrome version very inexpensively if you shop around.

writersblock, I'm in Canada and our options are limited compared to yours. I even tried to order online and never got a call back after calling them 4 times to get a quote, which was required.

Just as a "heads up" I have heard about people regretting "touch on" cooktops because their cats would inadvertently turn on the cooktop. One person had a fire. If you have cats, I wouldn't get a touch on faucet, unless you wanted to risk a flood.

forgot: and the faucet shuts off automatically after 4 minutes.

threebees, I did that and checked out a few places but the touch faucet was even more expensive than the Allora which was about $550. I believe the touch was over $600. In the end, I bought the American Standard Pekoe.

Ok, I have had it for about a month now. It is a little quirky (you catch yourself wrestling with it sometimes, you want it off but you accidentally turn it on and vice versa) but was over at a friends house a few weeks ago touching their faucet and it wouldn't turn on so I can say I touch faucets to turn them on.

Make sure you have 3"+ between the sink and the wall on the under side of the countertops or you will be fabricating which I had to do as well as remove a storm window to screw it in.

The deeper your sink is the harder it is going to be to install.

I would buy it again.

I think I spent like $370 maybe $340 somewhere in that price range.

Why not buy a system where you don't have to touch (with your hands) anything to turn on the water. And no, I'm not talking about an electric "eye" you wave your hand in front of.
A Tapmaster uses your water lines/pressure. Install a "plate" on the toekick in front of your sink. Simply applying pressure with your toe, to the plate, activates the water. Hands free water. It's like having a third hand in the kitchen. The BEST part of my kitchen remodel :)
Loved it so much that 5 years later I put one in our master bathroom remdodel. No cross contamination, saves water, super convenient and just plain COOL! :)
