Bedroom furniture by Durham
Comments (6)I love my Durham Bedroom set since it is so well made, prettier in person than I any picture of saw of it and is solid wood. I have the Royal Cottage in Sand White. If I ever get married and move to a bigger home, I would use my bedroom set for a guest room and buy one of the darker wood sets that have dressers that are wider (would not fit in my current bedroom so I went with the collection that would look best with the smaller room that I have now). I love the Mount Vernon for the stile of the furniture, the placement of the knobs, the choices furniture pieces that you have and the beautiful bed frames that the collection offers. The Château Fontaine is very pretty and classic also and looks beautiful in happyhollister's bedroom. Here is a link that might be useful: Durham Furniture: The Mount Vernon...See MoreHooker Bedroom Furniture or the like
Comments (11)I agree with Bellamy on Hooker, i wouldn't purchase something for that kind of money that will only go sourly bad in months. There are some good manufacturers out there that could pull high quality and solid hardwood. The problem you will have is getting High quality at a low price. For what I have seen solid wood manufacturers pride themselves of building stuff that will last and for that same reason the prices go up. I would try to go to www.woodlandfurniture.com www.antiguafurniture.com These two sites have the same type of wooden furniture and might help you out...See MoreBedroom furniture, Kincaid or Durham
Comments (7)Price-wise, the Kincaid set is about $1000.00 less than the Durham. Husband likes the Kincaid better, but I think I like the Durham. The biggest frustration is that I cannot look at either collection in person within driving distance. I hate to pay a substantial amount of money for something that I have not seen. Anybody else had any experience with Kincaid? I have read mixed reviews.......See MoreHelp with furniture color in bedroom!
Comments (10)Alicia, paint it with chalk paint. you can do it right in the room. (just lay down a tarp or painters plastic). two coats. 2nd coat give a fine sand with a 220 grit sanding sponge. buff w/clear wax. btw, this is a mahogany tall-boy from the 40's or so. AnnieSloan, CeCeCaldwell, or check local stores for their own brand of chalk paint. very easy to use and there is no less than a thousand how-to's online/Pinterest. or try this paint. (you will have to use a deglosser and possibly a primer) Seagull gray would be nice. or driftwood. I use this all the time and it's very easy to paint with. (use a good brush though) or, look on craigslist for something that matches yours (and put yours up for sale) And btw, that's not a mahogany dresser. it's a veneer of a factory wood finish meant to look like a slight resemblance to mahogany!...See Moreallison0704
