Chip in My Kohler Whitehaven Sink
Comments (39)Ok, I understand completely and want to thank you so much for taking the time to go over the procedure and complete with pictures which is always worth a 1000 words. That's such a help. I think maybe we can do this or at least give it a good college try. My husband and his friend have tried to think of everything. Removing the whole front of the cabinet is something we hadn't considered, mostly because they are custom cabinets of high quality and we were afraid of ruining them and then being stuck at a point of no return. But certainly there would be a way to fix after the deed. Certainly preferable to tearing out drywall from the raised bar on the other side of the sink, that's for sure! I can't thank you enough for spending your valuable time helping us. *I'll report the outcome, though it may be a while until it all gets finished and photo worthy. Much appreciation for the help, can't wait to get started!...See MoreKohler Whitehaven sink, anyone have Black or Caviar?
Comments (1)I have a white Whitehaven and love it. I did read on this site that black / dark colored enameled cast iron does not age as well as lighter colors. It seems like the black reflects scratches and wear in a way the light does not. However, I do not know how this applies to the Kohler Whitehaven....See MoreKohler whitehaven sink

Comments (8)That’s not what I would worry about with enameled cast iron sinks, but they can loose their sheen. My worry would be that they can chip, crack, and rust, and if yours does, Kohler will replace it, but you have to pay to have the sink changed. I am a stainless steel sink person all the way, but if you really want a white sink, consider solid surface or silgranit. While these are not perfect sink materials either (use the search engine here to find posts on them) they are more durable than enameled cast iron. I know making all these decisions can be tough, and just when you’ve decided on something, someone pipes in and recommends you consider something else - it can be a pain. As far as enameled cast iron goes, the Whitehaven is well regarded, and nothing else really looks quite like it. If that’s the sink you really want, go for it. Just also start a piggy bank for the replacement process....See MoreAboutToGetDusty
