loves2cook4six, I found photos of your Hafele Magic Corner II cabinet on an old thread (linked below). That's most likely the BCC pull-out I'm going to get and I plan to use it for the same purpose as you, to store small appliances.

What I haven't been able to find is the inner dimensions of each shelf; width, depth and especially height. What I'm looking for is usable space, so the distance between the sides and clearance between shelves. Would you please measure yours (including cab opening) and post it for me? I want to make sure that what I want to store in that cab will fit.

Lisa_a, just another thought - when I needed dimensions of various pull-outs, I used the "instant chat" function on Kitchensource (which is who I ordered from) and they were very helpful, calling the manufacturer for me when I had questions. I think they do enough business that the manufacturer takes them seriously.

"...corner susans...don't quite look like the rest of the kitchen..." Huh???? They looked just fine in our old kitchen w/partial overlay doors. Our lazy susan was the only thing in our kitchen that looked and performed as well at demo as it did at installation 13 years earlier. I wholeheartedly recommend corner susans. As to stuff falling off, if your cabinets are made so the back and side walls closely follow the contour of the round shelves, there are no problems. However, I don't know if all cabinetmakers, especially small custom shops, are able to (or willing to) make them that way. We had that kind (curved walls) in our old kitchen w/builder-grade cabinets...and that susan was great! It held all our pots & pans, colanders, cake & pie tins, and various serving pieces. Everything was in front...you simply rotated the susan, the doors rotated inside, and you stopped where the item you wanted was...and it was right in front of you...no digging around for things. Nothing ever fell off. The hardware worked smoothly the entire 13 years. No taking up aisle space in front of the cabinet when open. No door-banging b/c the door was attached to the susan (like Marcolo's picture). Be aware that if you store smaller items on a blind corner pullout and something falls off, you will have to crawl inside to retrieve the item b/f you will be able to close it. My KD strongly discourages blind corner cabinets b/c of all the complaints she's gotten from customers who insisted on them and then later regreted them. (I thought they looked "cool" the first time I saw them and asked about them. After she showed me how they work, told me about the pitfalls, and told me about all the complaints she's gotten, we decided not to get one.) Other good uses of corners: Drawers (Plllog's kitchen) Corner sink bases (b/c under sink storage is usually poor so you combine them to give you better storage everywhere else.) Installing a 27" or 30" cabinet and turning it 90 degrees to face the back side of the corner...but this only works if the back side is open, like in a peninsula. Yes, some people love their blind corner units, but, to me, they're a "last resort" option...only if absolutely nothing else works. YMMV

I will have one blind corner in my kitchen (new house build), and after reading the dialogue at the following link (see Contributor L response), I have decided to forget about using this space and just design around it. However, if you must use this space, there are several good suggestions here. I have copied/pasted it here because the URL keeps getting rejected by THS. Hi, Carol The cabinets are vertical grain fir, and the counters are soapstone (Jucca), from Dorado Soapstone. The flooring -- which you can't see in this pic -- is DuroDesign cork tiling (glue-down), color natural Baltico. Cream-colored Pratt and Larsen tiles went up on the walls after this picture was taken. I'll post FK pics in February, after the last of the trim has gone up. Glad you liked the look -- I like the function of appliance garages, but remember what a pain it was to have a handpainted tambour door over our old one, because the paint could never be right. Maybe a sprayed-on paint finish would have looked better, but with this kitchen renovation I wanted to skirt the whole issue. Lynn

This is the only website, where I've encountered any discussion about Asymmetrical Lazy Susans and the dreaded tight kitchen corner. Is the asymmetrical lazy susan a better option over the 33" lazy susan and/ or the blind corner cabinet? I know on paper, it should provide more visibility and accessibility, but does it, enough to make a difference? How much wider is the opening compared to the 33" lazy susan or 42" blind corner, exactly (my blind corner has a 12" opening)? Bottm line, is an asymmetrical lazy susan an improvement over other, not very good options? Is anyone aware of the possibility of custom asymmetrical lazy susans where a leg maybe up to 42" long? What would be the pros and cons of say a 42" x 32" asymmetrical cabinet? Does anyone have experience with this kind of cabinet, seen one in person? It's like pulling teeth to get any information. If it was a solution, you'd think it would be in demand and I'd find positive reviews from all the people who loathe blind corners and don't have an opening large enough for a pull-out. I have searched the internet and found nothing, no reviews or marketing, and one lonely image. I didn't even find much of anything for the 36/33 (alt 33/36) which I know is available from several name brands. I am just puzzled as to why there seems to be no consumer awareness. Lisa - Wow. Would never have seen this post except someone else emailed me a question and I came here to see if I could find an old thread.

All the drawers have the same inner dimension 18 x 14.75". The first unit, the one you see when you open the door, has three levels you can place the baskets. I use the bottom two. They don't slide out - the whole section moves forward and swings out the cabinet. The clearance between each shelf is 7.5" but the shelf has a lip which impacts the actual height of the items you can store in there. The top shelf has lots more additional room as you can go all the way to the top of the door opening.

The inner unit has fixed slide out drawers about 11" apart and the top one also much more.

My cab opening is more than the minimum required as my cabs were custom built.

Yes, it does, loves2cook4six, thank you! I just finished chatting with an operator at kitchensource at the suggestion of sjhockeyfan but she wasn't able to provide any info beyond the Hafele specs for the unit.

If I understand you correctly, you can only store short items on the bottom shelf of the first unit but you can store taller items on the top shelf of the 1st and 2nd units. Would I be able to store something that is 14" tall on the top shelf? Oh, wait, it sounds like I can store items as tall as 11" on the bottom shelf of the 2nd unit, it's only the 2nd shelf of the 1st unit that is quite height challenged. Is that correct?

My goal is to store my KA stand mixer, bread machine, juicer, and 2 slow cookers on the shelves. I know I can store them on 2 ROTs in a 19.5" wide cab but if I can get them and more on a Hafele Magic Corner II in a slightly wider cab, it would be worth the $$ to me.

It depends where you put the top shelf in the first unit. It has two options. If you have it in the higher spot you have about 14" in the bottom drawer and less then in the top. Mine isn't set up that way.

I have an Anskarsrum Mixer and a Vitamix with both jugs on the top of the first unit, A shoebox and a Cuisinart griddle/grill on the lower shelf. On the top of the second unit I have a rice cooker and the bottom drawer has a waffle maker and another shoe box. The kids still haven't found the chocolate in that one LOL. If your stuff fits the drawer footprint, I'm sure you can figure out the height. I also have a KA mixer but leave it on the counter as it's used every day. The bigger mixer I only use for huge batches and bread.
