Where can I find this Cabinet

Unfortunately the quirky kitchen thread reached maximum capacity so no more posting there....bummer...it had fabulous pictures. I would so love to find out where to get this baking center cabinet originally a picture posted by marcolo? Does anyone know how I can purchase this item?

Based on the photo info, it came from Living Etc.com.

If you haven't already done so, maybe you can email them and see if they can point you to whose design it was, or even where the cabinet comes from?

Hi Txgal! As for the CC portion... Some ACE stores have it, but all can order it from ACE warehouses. Our store carries it in Fargo, ND. * I'll post the stock#'s tomorrow, so you can tell your ACE store about it. * They MAY consider it a special order, so you may have to pay a fee. If it comes on their ACE freight trucks, no extra freight is involved. * Call other stores too obviously! * It's a VERY nice finish IF applied by someone who will do it right! * The "absolute best" look is on a sanded primer, and lightly sanding the well-dried first coat of CC...IF you're a perfectionist. yes, paintable so unfinished or painted white. i don't mid re painting if necessary. my ceilings are vaulted, the the vault starts at the 8ft mark--i'd better measure again to be certain, thanks. OH!! you are so right! i have 94.5 inches, not 8ft. thanks for making me double check. as for the depth, i know us. we're always draping clothes over things instead of hanging them up like actual adults. and since the shallower depth also works better in the room, i'm going to install pegs all around the interior for us to hang stuff on. drawers below will provide a whole lot more storage too.

Follow-up on Olde Good Things: They recently moved most of their hardware back to the Scranton warehouse due to rent costs in NYC, so that's why their selection in-city was small. I spent about five hours in the warehouse on a hot day, hoping to find 80+ bin pulls and cabinet handles and knobs. Unfortunately, they haven't sorted all of the hardware, and I didn't find much in cast iron--maybe 20 assorted bin pulls in all (not counting the "doggie" cast pulls) and various other handles, none matched. They had lots of brass, which I'm not using. I bought some things and will match them by searching other websites (Robinson's, thanks to trailrunner). I didn't mind the hot dusty search and road trip because I got some ideas. The OGT folks are very nice and sold the items cheaper than at the city stores, fair enough as I searched for them. Btw, they are religious and use their profits to support their work in Haiti. I'm not religious and I don't really know where the money goes, but they seem nice and weren't pushy at all. That's all I know. Thanks for the suggestions!

$507.28 and that is without any shipping (it is from Norway so not sure if they ship to the USA). If it is still around when I get my income tax return next year, I might just take the plunge. This one is plain so you can paint it yourself.

Large food storage cabinet unpainted

This fantastic, wooden, dry food and spice storage cabinet with 12 aluminum scoops and 9 bottles is what every parent and food lover should have in their kitchen!

It is mouse proof and with the transparent front you can see how much food you have left.

The Scoops take the equivilent of a 2 lb bag of flour, 1.5 kg of rice, 2kg bag of sugar or 500g pasta. Fill these Scoops with oats, sugar, pulses and dried fruit, you will be amazed at how much extra storage you suddenly have in the rest of your kitchen.

The bottles, sealed with their half-turn aluminum lids, create the optimum enviroment for spices to stay fresh.

The bottle lids are plain, but can be easily labelled with any sticky lettering.

I am often asked if the produce in the scoops stays fresh. Yes it does. Modern packaging has led us to believe that dried food needs to be in an airtight container, this is not the case. Remember that much of the produce is kept in hessian sacks before it ever reaches our hermetically sealed environment!

Please post the info when you get the email. I see a smaller, 8 scoop version that I think would work for me.
I am in NY and am also interested in having it shipped here. I wonder, if by some chance you are not far from me, if we got them shipped together, would that save anything? Alternatively, often imported things get sold in NYC and I could make a trip in to pick it/them up....

It says it is "inspired" by Norway and is painted locally (Shropshire) but they don't say where it is made. I imagine shipping from England may be cheaper than from Norway as it is closer.

BTW - I love the extending clothes dryer as well. It looks nifty, but pricey.

I found a smaller version that is cheaper! It is the blue one and it says it has a hairline crack, but the price is much better....

In my email I did ask if there were any USA distributors...will post the response when I get it. It certainly is striking and seems so practical...except for the price...that even trumps the Horchow prices for dream items. :-)

I'm thinking that it would not be entirely impossible for me to make one of these, if I could find the aluminum containers. IKEA has something similar in glass, but I think the metal really adds to the character. If anyone knows where aluminum scoops like these might be found, please post!

Many thanks for your enquiry. The image in question was not commissioned by LivingEtc so I am afraid I cannot contact anyone to find out. As we are a UK based magazine we are not hugely familiar with American stores so it is very hard for me to suggest places to look.

It looks like a vintage piece so the best thing I can suggest is trying vintage websites and stores. It may be a good idea to put it on the website again & hopefully the reader who posted it may be able to help you. Also if you try posting it on an American interiors blog you may be able to get a better local source.
