I just got my GE profile range today (the fridge is delayed) and the stainless does not match my Kobe rangehood or probably not the Asko dishwasher. It might bug me a bit, but not enough to swap them out. I would have preferred them to match better but I really like the function of all that I chose so I will deal with it.

My husband and I were just looking at it again. It is so light it looks almost white and looks like a stainless look instead of stainless steel. Does Bosch make a stainless look or just stainless? I just ran to Lowes to look at one and it sure doesn't look that color in the store.

Well my hood and rangetop don't matche, but they are close. The micro right next to them is different, it looks different -- glass door and all. The ovens might match the rangetop since they are the same brand, but they have a little differnt look to them. They are separated by 4 ft of cabients and counter adn are in different light since one is opposite the window nad one is not. Hadn't ever thoguht about it. The fridge is certainly different, but it's the only stainless on that wall and I don't go comapring that wall to another wall. I covered my DWs because that was just too much stainless for me. LOL

My point is that looking at them side by side before they are installed is not like looking at them in the kitchen with everything else going on. They will probably look fine installed. You p[icked the ones you did for a reason, so I'd atleast give them a try. Worst case, a DW is generally the easiest appliance to replace since they are fairly standard at undercounter height nad 24" wide. You should be able to swap it out if you can't live with it.

Marilyn, Bosch also makes a Titanium finish -- is there any chance that this is what was delivered by mistake? A lot of folks have said that Bosch's Titanium looks almost white and not much like metal. Doublecheck that perhaps?

I have 5 different brands of ss appliances in my kitchen and being that the space is not that big, they're fairly close to one another. With that said, the ss is close enought that I think it looks fine. I looked at the high end Bosch dishwashers in Sears before purchasing my Kenmore Elite (liked the heated dry cycle and it was also super quiet). Anyhow, the Bosch finish looked very close to the other ss brands that displayed right next to it. I agree with circuspeanut, you may have gotten a different finish altogether.

The titanium is a thought.....I suspect your serial number may tell you the finish. I'm not sure what the difference would be, but often there is a letter that signifies the finish -- often at the end of the number.

I had a black Bosch (sorry don't know the serial #) and I was going to just cover with the stainless steel contact type material but found that Bosch would sell me a new panel pretty cheap . The new stainless paneled Bosch DW sits right next to a new SS Maytag fridge and fairly close to the oven and microwave. All this to say that the Bosch DW doesn't look odd to me at all. I think Circuspeanut has the right idea.

I have a stainless steel Bosch dishwasher and a GE Profile stove and microwave and they are a fine match. No two colors are going to be an identical match as they don't come off the same piece of stainless. Neither are two diamonds are two pieces of granite going to be identical.

I have a Bosch dishwasher and I absolutely LOVE it! Did I tell you how much I LOVE mine?

Your stove and dishwasher won't be next to each other, so I wouldn't worry. I have a Bosch stove which is also wonderful as well. So mine does match but I have a stainless FD Whirlpool fridge. The finish is close enough that one probably wouldn't ever notice they weren't identical.

Make sure that the finish is what you ordered. Talk to the folks where you bought your appliances to see if the right ones were ordered.

I was looking at the Ge Profile range also. The stainless is almost a golden color. I don't know why they do that. I really don't think it would be a problem as long as the range and the dishwasher are not next to each other.

I would argue that the dishwasher is the one appliance that I wouldn't mind if the finish didn't match the others. It's somewhat relational to the sink, while the range and/or wall oven and fridge are more the "big guys" and should relate to each other. If you have your heart set on the Bosch, I say stick with it.

Thank you everyone for all your advise. I truly do appreciate it. I knew being another manufacturer it would not match exactly, but this doesn't even look like stainless. I just returned from my sons who lives out of state but have now marked down the serial number and model to make sure it is the right one. I think I have the titanium but I will check into it tomorrow. Thanks you again for all your help.

This going to sound really silly but at first I was little disappointed with the color of the bosch ss. That is until I realized there is a thin coat of plastic on it to peel off. Did you check that? The plastic was a cloudy clear.

Well, I never thought about that, EANDHL, but so true. The plastic is almost a part of the appliance because it is sealed so well and it does give it that milky look, now that you mention it, and yes, when mine came in the door, I thought something was wrong with it but I recall that so well now, it was the plastic, same way with the GE Profile oven, which my housekeeper said, "It's coming off..." and I wondered what it was and she said, "the color." I turned to notice she was peeling the plastic wrapping off before it was installed and I yelled "Stop." She thought she was being helpful and I was trying to keep the plastic on until it was installed to prevent any possible scratches. :)

Mine had a bright blue plastic film over it and I kept it on to protect it for a while during stages of construction. A lot of my friends would come in to see how the kitchen was coming along. It took me a while to realize that some of them didn't know that it was a protective film. At some point in the conversation, they'd ask how many color choices I'd had and how I chose the blue one. (Kitchen is more traditional with medium brown raised-panel cherry cabinets, coast green granite, and a sandy-color wall.)

Yes I did peel the plastic off eandhl and then pushed it into the spot it would go. It is on a different wall than the frig and stove so I guess that could be playing with the color. My stove and micro are the stainless and the black top on stove and black accent on the micro. They look great!! The dishwasher just jumps at you as it doesn't have the black accent and is so so light!!! I researched the bosch and they just have the less expensive one with black on the top but I love the features on this one. My husband says its because the walls are just primed white and there is no counter yet but I am afraid with the warm golden granite this light stainless, which is not a warm color is not going to look right. Maybe when the sink and stainless faucet are installed it will look better. If it doesn't I think I am going to paint all the buttons black and the integrated handle also. My husband says this remodel has finally put me over the edge and thinks I have lost all my marbles!! I think he's right... LOL

Marilyn, after a year and half of a complete renovation/restoration I know I've lost my marbles. I had the the Bosch with the hidden controls in my last house. This time I went with one (I think in the 500 series) it does have some black. The one reason I selected this, my only complaint about the old one was the handle was always in my way on the hidden control machine.

oops, I was wrong. My Bosch DW doesn't have black on it. I think mine is the SHE55M0

Mine is the SHE45MO, eandhl almost the same thing. Is your stainless real light and the top grey? Does it match your other applicances? I am getting a little more used to it. I am not going to do anything until the granite comes on Wednesday. With the sink in place it may look completely different. Thanks for your help.

There is about a 30 inch set of drawers between DW and F&P SS fridge, they go fine. Across 4 1/2 ft to other wall is DCS range, it looks different if you look really closely and the hood is Kobe SS with matching SS backsplash. They all blend okay in my opinion and no one has mentioned anything. Yes the top where control buttons are is slightly different that the lower part of DW, it looks gray. Right now each new thing you put in you scrutinize but when it's done and you get the overall look, it will blend.

Well I moved the dishwasher over to the wall with the stove and the color changed before our eyes. You could tell the bottom was stainless and the top where the control panel is just light grey plastic I think. When moving it back to where it is going you cant tell the difference between the top and the bottom color. The light is making it twice as light on that wall for some reason. Did you ever paint a room and it looks great on two walls and either darker or doesnt even look like the same color on the other walls, well thats what it looks like. I called and they said I could retrun it for the cheaper bosch which has a black control panel on the top. My granite came today and I moved the dishwasher to the dining room last night. Well when I went up to check on the granite, they had moved it into the spot and put bolts or screws to the granite. I was a little upset, but they didnt know I was returning it. The stove and microwave go so nice with the cherry cabinets and my new granite, venetian gold which is gold, caramel, cream and the color of my cabinets. When I picked it out in the yaard, it showed alot of grey also which ties in the stainless but in the kitchen is coming off as dark grey. Love the granite, floor, cabinets so far but this dishwasher sticks out like a sore thumb. I was going to trade it in for the Bosch with black panel above or the Kenmore Elite as it is a darker stainless with black on top. Oh well, back to my painting idea. I just have to figure out how to paint it but still be able to see what mode I'm in. Any ideas, other than telling me I really lost my mind this time?? LOL Thanks again for all your help, you guys are the best!!!!!!
