I would definitely put a towel ring there, especially when you will have all this rectangular stuff going on, and I am OK with lights directed up although I am a lamp person much more than top lights.
Will you have a very small lamp on the counter for ambiance? I am thinking you are drawing the eyes up with your tall ceilings and that may make the room a bit too cold looking,
also maybe? IMVHO

Thanks oopsie913, I appreciate your opinion. I have a chandelier hanging just in front of the corner tub which is on dimmer, it add the ambiance.

Aren't you going to want to use the outlet? If so, I would not cover it.

I would paint the outlet cover with the wall paint.

Hi graywings, we have another outlet on the left side that we use. We dont use this one, this centre outlet was one that the inspector made us put in, it is not exactly centered, about an inch off centre, that is part of the reason I want to cover it.

We actually preferred not just the look of the lights up but I think they function better. You dont get the glare you do with lights down. My personal preference is to have wall sconces beside the mirrors but that was not an option for us in this bathroom. Thanks for your response.

The outlet sticks out because nothing else fills the space right now. I don't get the need to hide outlets, but I know it bugs some people. Your idea to place a towel ring above it should solve the problem and provide a quick reach for hand-drying. Certainly wouldn't hamper using the outlet.

Well, since you asked, I would not put a towel over the outlet. I think you're asking for trouble by inviting people to put their wet hands right by an electrical outlet.

However, I would place something non-rectangular in front of the outlet. If I recall, there were some photos with an orchid on your previous post?

If the outlet isn't used a solid cover can be placed over it.

I would not hang a towel for drying wet hands over an

We have another wall we could use for our towels, perhaps this towel could just be decorative and not used? This bathroom is our master bath, no kids here.

You don't actually have to use the outlet, right? Just because the inspector made you put one in. Can't you just put a flat outlet cover (no holes) over it? I'd match it to the paint, because I'm compulsive that way.

Rather than a towel ring, how about a vertical rack of some sort?

If you hang a towel in that space you'll quickly realize how handy it is to use, rather than turning away from the vanity to use another. So decorative may become utilitarian. Keep that in mind.

Hey natal, thanks for all your options. Yes Squirrel did some amazing virtuals for me with the mirrors. I know it is a lot of work to do those, I am trying to learn gimp, so I dont want to impose on her again for this simple thing. I thought there was someone on this forum who had something similar and would post a picture for my DH. You know how men, well some men, need that visual to be able to see what something looks like :>)

If you're not going to use the outlet, buy some of those little plug-in's in the baby section of the store that people use to child proof their homes. And if you ever decide to use the outlet, you just pull them out.

Have you heard of Scentsy Candles? They're the "new" thing and they are just gorgeous. Very decorative. You plug them into an outlet and it heats up the wax with a little lightbulb, and it gives off the best scent ever! They also can serve as a nightlight, the wax burns for a very long time, weeks maybe? And they're safe around cats and children because there's not a flame & the wax won't burn you either.

A towel ring will be fine there as long as the outlets are covered. The baby things are the easiest to use though to protect you from any electrical current if a towel is wet.

I also would not hang a towel ring over the outlet. I'd wait until the mirrors are up to see if you really need anything at all. If you still feel like the space needs something, why not put a couple of glass shelves there?

I would wait until the mirrors are in, then use one of the Command removable adhesive hooks and hang it there with a towel to see if you like the look. I am NOT a fan of towel rings, much prefer a decorative hook for hanging, but the overall effect will be there with the command hook as a test.

I would be more inclined to add a decorative wall pocket filled with greenery,something to soften all the hard edges, than a towel. Will you use the outlet? If not, get an outlet cover instead, and then hang the wall vase over it to cover it. Or, stand a vase with a great arrangement in front of the outlet if you are going to need to access it.

No matter what, I would paint out the outlet or cover to match the walls. The white looks inexpensive and unfinished imo compared to the elegance of the bath.

yes, I would wait till the mirrors are up to make a final decision. But if you really want to put the towel ring there I would just get a cover for the outlet

You could put a lovely jardiniere on the counter holding a sanseviera (sometimes called a mother-in-law's tongue). It is a tall slender plant that does not require much light or water. It would hide the outlet, fit the area, add dimension to the counter, and you could still hang artwork above it.

Have you considered ONE large oval, or rectangular mirror, and towel rings on each side of the mirror?
I would try that.
I'm not sure if it will look good with the lights to the side. You can try it.
