Crystal Keyline Cabinet Inset Upgrade Cost

I've been looking at Keyline Inset cabinets and getting some conflicting information. Crystal is currently running a choice of three promotions 1)Free Upgrade to Inset 2) Free upgrade to Cherry 3)Free highlight or glaze. Trying to figure out what free item is the best value.

One said that inset was the best value and another one said free cherry.

Are there any dealers on here who can tell me what value each of the promotions is worth? You can email me directly if you don't want to post on this forum. Or Does anyone else know?

Wouldn't it depend upon the pieces you order? If you order a lot of trim pieces or side panels, then the inset promotion would have no value on those. Did you get a quote on your exact order?

I am a Crystal cabinet dealer in the Chicago suburbs. Inset adds 15% in Keyline but only on the cabinet part of the order, not on the moldings, panels, doorstyle, wood or finish. Cherry is a 4% upcharge on the entire order. A highlight is 7% on the entire order. Typically the inset sale is the best one, but you should have your dealer price it all three ways. The Crystal pricing program makes that very easy to do. I do it all the time for my clients to make sure they are getting the best deal.

Full overlay is the upgrade from Inset? I vote inset if that is the case. I don't know what you mean by seeing the lip. Wood is pretty forgiving and most people will be careful after all the investment of new cabinets.

mags, yes dw does the install. They do the panels for appliances too. I have a "thing" about faux drawers and doors. Jason at DW totally understood my issue. If you look at the sets of drawers on each side of the sink by the window, you will see 3 drawer fronts on each side. The top two on each side are dish drawers, I wanted them to completely blend in with the other drawers and not look like one big drawer. Some integrated fronts are only one panel from some companies, but having them made custom you can ask them to do this. DW's glass fronts are not upcharges. If you want anything but clear glass, ie Antique German, or wavy, etc., then yes, there is an upcharge. But mine cost the same as having wood fronts. Thanks for the compliments. Kitchen Cabinets: How to compare Starmark, Koch, Crystal??

Thanks guys for the input. After further review, both Koch and Starmark look to be fairly close to each other in quality/fit and finish. We recieved some sample doors both from Starmark and Crystal.......and I must say the Crystal looks and feels so much nicer! My wife loves them and they are significantly heavier than the Starmark. Crystal gave us a Knotty Alder and also a Beach. The Beach is surprisingly heavier than the Alder by quite a bit. Must be a very dense type of wood. We are trying to firm up the pricing for both and also see if we can get them a little tighter in numbers. The Crystal will definitely be higher.....but it's just if we think it's worth it or not. I wish we could of found some of your pricing gooster! Hopefully our supplier can get a little more competitive.

shiloh v. showplace inset cabinets

I have experience with Showplace through a family member ... probably will get a pretty nice cabinet from either Shiloh or Showplace. Sounds like they would be pretty close to each other in pricing. You already have things picked out so it wouldn't matter whether or not you have more to pick from with one brand or another (Showplace has the edge here). The drawer is always really beefy on the Showplace cabinet but you can get a similar drawer with Shiloh as an upgrade. Showplace has some special pricing going on until the end of the year but I assume your KD already passed that along; worth asking about though. Showplace also has a very dependable delivery schedule in 4-5 weeks from placing a kitchen order; I don't have personal experience, but have heard Shiloh can stretch to 7 weeks which can be a problem with holiday deadlines - you would want to get assurances on this topic. Showplace also has a lifetime warranty but I don't think Shiloh does. That could be the thing that tips the scales in this choice so ask your Shiloh KD. All I got ... good luck!

Small world, I'm also in the Chicago suburbs. Curious, where are you in the area? I've hit a few Crystal cabinet dealers in the area. I don't think you were one of them because no one really offered to do what you do.

I am in Island Lake in the far Northwest suburbs. My work is 99% by referral. I've used Crystal as my primary line for over 10 years and am very familiar with it. I'm not sure what the etiquette is on this board, which I really enjoy and wouldn't want to jeopardize, but I'd be happy to talk to you about your project. If I'm not in your area I might be able to recommend someone closer. The comparisons you want would be very easy for anyone using the Crystal pricing program. If you have quotes already you should ask the designer for assistance in finding the best value. It would be less than 5 minutes work if the quote is already in the computer.
